Guest Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 (edited) Huge shame this wasn't advertised further in advance. Tickets available to fans however. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/november/29/ticket-news--rovers-v-ajax/ Return flights are around £99. It's about 3 hours to Malaga. Guest Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Game on Friday 2nd December also vs Hearts, which isn't yet available to attend. Quote
JHRover Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Done deliberately IMO to ensure as few as possible attend. They've been saying for weeks that they are playing twice this weekend and have refused to divulge information on where, when and critically if fans will be allowed in until the 11th hour. I got some flights sorted but were £140 to come back on the Monday instead and have an extra day there. 2 Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 But I was told they're on a jolly to Marbella? Quote
tomphil Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 It's a jolly with a game at the end of it 😎 2 Quote

Supporters are little more than an irritating afterthought especially if the Club isn't going to profit from them. 1 Quote

Given that the games have only been arranged and confirmed this week from what I read It seems unfair to blame the club for anything. Edited November 30, 2022 by chaddyrovers 1 Quote

I'll tell you what, It's so lucky that we took enough youngsters on the training camp that allows us to play two teams on consecutive days. Then low and behold there just happens to be two teams at the training camp at the same time. If that wasn't planned in advance, my cock's a kipper. 2 Quote
JHRover Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 So yesterday, 4 days before the game in Marbella, Rovers finally announce that the Ajax match is open to supporters to attend. I've seen various people who have booked at short notice to go out on Friday to watch this. Yet no mention or information of arrangements for the Hearts game on Friday. 24 hours later, and 48 hours before the Hearts game is played, Rovers then announce that the game is open to supporters, free admission, at a stadium in Coin, about 30 minutes drive from Marbella. A short while later, Rovers provide an 'update' that the game is actually taking place at the Marbella training centre, that it is behind closed doors, but that Rovers fans can attend by registering via a link that isn't yet available. Then on the Rovers' official website there is a similar story but saying this is at the Malaga training centre. I assume this is just someone getting Marbella and Malaga mixed up. What a shambles. 3 Quote

arbitro Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Rovers 1-0 up in 5 minutes through Szmodics (against Hearts that is). Quote
chaddyrovers Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 From Rich Sharpe Hearts had a decent spell after Szmodics' opener, but Rovers should have doubled their lead. Hirst breaks clear of the defence, and despite having Szmodics waiting for a tap-in, goes himself and fires over Quote
chaddyrovers Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Hirst scored. 2 nil Rovers. From Rich Sharpe Hedges with a cracker of a pass, popping up on the left, and Hirst on the volley thumps it into the roof of the net. 1 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Hirst 3 nil. From Rich Sharpe Dack with a lovely throughball, Hirst first holds off Sibbick, steadies himself and rounds the keeper to roll the ball into the empty net 1 Quote
Darrenbot Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Hirst has found his level,it's the Scottish Premiership. 3 Quote
