Did I really hear a '"go back to Sweden" chant from the BBE tonight? I definitely heard boos when Dack was rightly subbed. Baffling.

Ghost7
I think Tomasson and Broughton will have seen enough now, that said, you'd struggle to sell a lot of this squad. Money needs investing, loan players need returning (their mistake!). Surely some business will get done early for once.
BlackburnEnd75
Going to stick to the positives. Thought we played well first half and deserved that lead. Some elements looked to be clicking into gear and we could've had a couple more if Gally had been on song. Thought JDT made a good tactical move having JRC and Hedges go man to man, nullifying them down their left. I'll leave everyone else to pick through the bones of the rest

Guest
Just back from that. What a shambles the second half was, after so much that was good in the first. We were always going to be chasing the game once Boro got into their stride, but I just don't understand the mentality of throwing a game like that. Thanks too to the Neandertal morons in the Riverside (you know who you are!) for demonstrating how low a person's IQ can go whilst still being allowed out without a straightjacket. Sorry if you were upset by being asked to moderate your language, and how very dare anyone actually move seats at half time for a better view. Oooh, handbags at thirty paces ladies. Back to the game. We seemed to have a plan in the first half, and the plan was working. With a little luck, and if we actually had hungry strikers who want to score goals, we could have been well enough clear to have sunk Boro. But no, we just have to find a way to self-sabotage and allow the opposition to rail-road us to defeat. A bitter pill, that second half. I do hope it doesn't deter too many from pushing through the New Year's Day hangover to get to Ewood for the Bluebird visit. I won't hold my breath just yet.. Have a player sent off for a stupid act of petulance. Go 2-1 down soon after. Create next to nothing to even try get back into it. That's the ultimate recipe for a weak mentality and a losing culture right there. Agree 100%. Conceding within the 1st minute of the 2nd half is actually more infuriating than the petulant stupidity. Just highlights they’re not in a fight for promotion for me. Going through the motions.

simongarnerisgod
we lost again because the midfield was powder puff,we can`t concentrate and can`t keep the ball as jdt would like, buckley being stupid did`nt help, but it was obvious boro`s manager got into them at half time,i don`t know what jdt said to our lads but it can`t have been very inspirational because we lost our shape within a minute,im`e clinging on to hope that he buys some midfielders in january, morton is a lightweight, buckley is a lightweight and travis is`nt good enough to hold the middle of the park together
Backroom DE. Posted December 29, 2022 Backroom Share Posted December 29, 2022 I find it hard to believe there is any serious discontent at Ewood, considering what Mowbray got away with after our L1 promotion. Then again, does JDT have his own flag?

(A loss and results go against us) And yet we’ll still be higher than the other two teams / new managers that were mentioned in the post that I’d replied to. We can’t say, for example, Mowbray has done well to get Sunderland into the top 6 in a few months and criticise our similarly new manager, whilst we sit above them.

We don't know how the game would have gone from 1-1 with eleven on the pitch, but past history doesn't really suggest we would have roared back to victory, so I'm not entirely sure we can be hugely confident we would have ended up with the three points. The red card unquestionably made it a much more difficult task though.

Guest
The worst decision I’ve ever seen in a Rovers match. A fucking straight red card for THAT? It’s laughable. One level below the ‘best football league in the world’ and you get a straight red card for bouncing the ball off someone. You’d never finish a game of five a side if the refs were as bad as those in the championship. Love to see his report, what’s he gonna write next to the red card? Violent conduct? Fuck me. arbitro
Buckley's lack of discipline cost us tonight. We played some good stuff in the first half and the big diagonals and cross field passes had Boro in real trouble as we stretched their defence and got in behind. We could have gone in two up at half time although Boro had a couple of chances of their own. We were caught cold at the beginning of the second half as Boro came out of the blocks quicker than us. I still thought we would go on to win but Buckley really killed that notion with his infantile behaviour. Boro stepped up and got their second and it was going to be tough from there but credit to our players who pushed for an equaliser and had a couple of chances. I was annoyed with Tomasson for taking off our two most creative players and replacing them with two defensive midfielders but my real anger is towards Buckley whose idiocy cost us tonight.
JamieUK
Really enjoyed the first half - as a game of football probably most enjoyable since WBA/Watford? Shame about the second half. A point on Adam Wharton - I don't think he was asked to warm up at all in the second half. Strange given it's usually 2 lots of 3. Might be mistaken but quite sure he wasn't out. Ianrally
Norwich are four points behind us with a game in hand. They were quick enough with a decisive move to get rid of Dean Smith. It will be interesting to see whether us or them finish the higher at the end of the season.
