Guest Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Rovers return to Ewood triumphant from their emphatic battering of Big Club in the FA Cup, no doubt buoyed by the encouraging flow of new talent into the senior squad, after an amazing month of wheeling, dealing and squealing at the cold hands of the expert management team specially hired to take the club forward into new and bedazzling heights, on and off the pitch. In the 30 or so meetings between Rovers and 't Latics, the pride of Lancashire hold the upper hand overall, having won 13 games, with 10 won by those consuming greater calories in pastry and pork, and 7 ending in satisfied large burps from both sides of Irlam baths. Recent form has bugger all to do with trying to predict what will happen on Monday evening, other than to say the Pie Eating brethren appear somewhat starved of pointage and on the downward trajectory to their true level, leagues below the beloved Blackburn Rovers, proud founder members of the Football League. Having employed staff with a modicum of education in all key areas, Latics were able to secure the additional services of eight players during the recent transfer window, including: Jan 31 2023. Omar Rekik. From Arsenal. on loan. ... Jan 30 2023. CB. Martin Kelly. From West Bromwich Albion. ... Jan 13 2023. CDM. Christ Tiehi. From Slovan Liberec. ... Jan 11 2023. CB. Steven Caulker. ... Jan 10 2023. CM. Miguel Azeez. ... Sep 02 2022. LW. Anthony Scully. ... Sep 02 2022. CB. Rarmani Edmonds-Green. ... Aug 13 2022. CF. Ashley Fletcher It isn't clear at this stage whether any of these players might feature in Monday's game, but there are likely to be so few in attendance at Ewood Park that even the usual shouts of 'Who?' will be lost to the winds howling around empty terracing, as the boys in Blue and White halves / quarters grace the stage with their superior but diminishing brand of association football. For gawds sake don't do the tippy tappy out from the backy shite that invariably presents solid gold goal scoring opportunities to our opposition. Just roll your sleeves up, accept that the management team behind you are incompetent almost to the point of criminal culpability and lets send the pie eaters and their minging singing mini-hordes back down the M6 with their tails firmly between their legs. Come on Rovers. After this week's shower of shite, that IS THE LEAST YOU CAN DO. COYB! Quote

simongarnerisgod Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 shocking game, plumbs new depths of boring,we sneak a goal with a calamitous error on wigans part and finish with a 1-0 win only in part because wigan are even worse than us 1 Quote
Andy Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Important one for us to win, if we do indeed have any ambitions of a top 6 finish; you have to beat the Wigans at home. With Sorba through the door, I'd start with BBD central and Dack just behind him - with either Dolan or Hedges on the other side. And not sure how long A.Wharton is out for, but I'd like to see him back in the middle of the park as soon as he's fit to do so - he's just so different to anything else we have. For Monday, I'd start with Buckley and Travis, Morton could do with a couple of games on the bench. 4 Quote
Proudtobeblue&white Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Wouldn't pay washers to go live to this one. Might have it on the telly in the background, I really feel for JDT, coming to this sh*tshow. It's all very depressing......... 1 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 I will be attend as always. If people listen to what JDT said on RoversTV he was clear and direct that the players and him need the fans backing and support. My team for this game Kaminski JRC Ayala/Carter Wharton Pickering Travis Buckley Thomas Dack BBD Vale Subs:- Pears, Carter/Phillips, Morton, Dolan, Hedges, Szmodics, Gallagher 6 Quote
Mattyblue Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Why would the players not be supported? 1 Quote

roversfan99 Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 The players and manager will be supported as they always are. Petty to imply otherwise. The crowd will be lower because of the stupid kick off and maybe people being aggrieved at people above the manager. tomphil Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 So it's Wigan who normally spank us there whilst we beat them here but now we'll probably become draw specialists and finish every game in Feb all square. Rovers 1 Wigan 1 13,251 Everybody needs to get behind the lads ffs, last people to blame for the fiasco are JDT and the players. A few sack the boards wouldn't do any harm though... 4 Quote
booth Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 On the plus side, Brereton is due a goal. 2 Quote

No one has implied otherwise but JDT make a very important point to the fans that the players and JDT need the fans even more now. Do you not see that on Rovers TV? Quote

Mattyblue Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 (edited) Banging on about the unfairness of owners bankrolling football clubs… this is Wigan who had crowds of 1,500 and were on the verge of dropping back into non league before Whelan bought them. Would prefer Wharton to get a crack. Also cant understand why anyone would want Vale ahead of Gallagher, as limited as Gallagher is. 1 Quote
