The fact he was on the verge of being packed off on loan for the season shows how fine the margins between success and failure can be.

I think he is proving to be the perfect fit for the way Tomasson wants his fullbacks to play - although he looks like he’d do a good job anywhere at present! He’s comfortable on the ball and happy to come inside. He struggled under Mowbray as he was expected to be constantly bombing up and down the touchline, driving forward and chasing back.

To be fair the loan would have been good for him - he needed a run of starts at any professional level. I'm glad it's worked out with us in the Championship, but the theory was sound. The same thing is happening with Pears too.

With regards to how he plays - Brittain is the style of FB that JDT wants. If you watch closely they have Travis covering for JRC when he gets upfield because he still isn't athletic enough to get back properly.

Dont think Buckley was especially good or especially poor.  Think his game will only be benefited by being surrounded by lads who put a shift in (Sammie Travis Dolan gally etc)

Hopefully can do so and carry us to Wembley

Don't really follow this logic that a player has one good game in a dozen and suddenly everyone else was wrong about them. It can entirely true that a player has been rubbish but happened to play well in a given game.

Some people just love the "I told you so" approach. I genuinely think if a player was piss for 20 games then played ok that some people would try rub it in critics faces. Brain dead approach.

Great pass from Travis, as others have said. Needed vision for that one, not many would have tried to play it that way.

Terrific assist from JRC for the third too. Beats two men when he looked in trouble, with a neat trick, straight into the box and lays it on a plate for Gally to eat up.

I like the wording used here.

No bookings for Rovers which is unusual.

Away support sound was excellant on radio. How many there?

He gives us the tips in advance at least! 😶

I’ve not had a lot of luck since the big Brereton one, you wouldn’t generally want my tips!

I think I only put it on today because I was annoyed and thinking he was extremely fortunate to be starting, and I was ready to be proven wrong!

Tell you what this is a statement win.

New manager bounce is a massive thing throughout football, even with some poor managers. Blimey we've seen it in the last few weeks at championship and premiership level. Factor in missing Dack and Bereton our two strongest attackers and it's a tough away game, despite QPRs form.

So a convincing win with players stepping up is very pleasing even if QPRs form has been poor. Mentally tough to regain the lead as well.

How long this run will continue I'm unsure, nor am I certain of the consistency of some of our players (or being totally truthful their level.) But whilst we are on this run and in great form we can really cement our playoff place. COYB!

Anyone remember when Ryan Nyambe was a ‘thing’ ? Thank GOD we’ve moved on 🙏🏽

Got to hold my hand up on this one i was a big supporter of Nyambe but Brittain really is twice the player.  Just hope he doesn't share Ryans glass like issues.

He cost a lot more than a few hundred grand from the lower leagues though 😀

20 x the player Morton is.

To be fair, if Morton was one of ours then we wouldn't shut up about him.

The trouble is that he's cutting his teeth and making his youthful mistakes on our time, whilst we've already put in the hard yards to develop Buckley into a good Championship player.

Really pleased that him (and Trav) are back in the team and playing well. They were always good enough to compete at the higher end of this division. Their time out of the side seems to have done them the world of good.

I hereby withdraw any prior negative comments towards Joe Rankin-Costello. Some player this season. Wow.

Great team effort, deserved win on the road, and their goal was a bit of a fluke although Carter should have cleared the initial cross.
