We’ve collated the data from each match & using a 6 game rolling average* as a means of identifying form trends, here’s some graphs that you might find interesting…

This is the team form graph.

Data point 16 is the first 6 game score that includes the Burnley game BTW & the data from the Blackpool game is the last data point.

*Why rolling averages ? If you are interested…

Here’s BBD’s form graph - note the heavy correlation with team form…this is intriguing as it suggests (to me) that when he plays well it disproportionally influences the final scoreline & how people view the team performance.

Perhaps we’ve just started to learn to rely on him less judging by the last few data points ?

So is it correlation or causation ? One for the philosophers/statisticians to comment on…

Does this count as concrete evidence that, despite our best protestations, Gally isn't worse than George Hirst?!

Literally nobody has said Gallagher is worse than George Hirst in fairness.

Great stuff @Herbie6590, I love a good graph myself. Some of the things I’d look at:

I think it’d be interesting to compare the average team rating versus the median player rating. Maybe ‘Gallagher-4’ drags the average down?

Then perhaps compare both with results (a simple bar chart overlay with 0,1,3 points for each game?)

The spread of scores for each player versus the average spread - who is more/less consistent.

I could go on, and on…

I blame Mr. Donellan for that!

It was a joke in fairness.

One of the mainstays of the side, Harry Pickering…lifting the team score for the most part of the season…

Interesting graph for a much-maligned player ......... he's consistently very decent and doesn't let the team down.
