oldjamfan1 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 I think it will prove to be a good thing. From a supporter point of view I would like to have seen a couple of things in the White Paper strengthened a bit (e.g. the 'shadow board' is an expectation as opposed to a requirement and the 'golden share' likewise). The Rovers Trust is well on top of this, as mentioned in the Trust thread. We have had a lot of dialogue with the major players behind the scenes and many of the Trust's proposals have actually ended up in the White Paper. We will continue to lobby for improvements, as there is still time to influence the White Paper contents as it moves through the Parliamentary process. So if you aren't already a Rovers Trust member, please join us. It only costs a tenner a year and the Trust will be the major strategic fan organisation in any Blackburn Rovers shadow board, that much is already clear. Mashed Potatoes Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Interesting to read in the White Paper that prospective new owners are required to furnish the Regulator with a business plan which incorporates their plans for dealing with contingencies that result in a downturn in the club's finances - such as relegation. If it is true that Venkys bought the club without knowing that the club could be relegated from the Premier League they might have gone about things in a different way. 2 Quote
Upside Down Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 From what I saw they bought the club with the intention of achieving relegation. Quote
