Season tickets 2023-24 - what could/should be offered ?

Offer at £299 until mid-April, then it goes up to £399... might get a decent number gambling that we get promoted. 

Should be selling them now at an attractive, limited time price point to capitalise on the feel-good factor at the moment and prospect of promotion.

Ideally, we could really do with a super cheap offer (back to the £199 days) to entice big numbers back, with the long term view that they stay for the following seasons.

Crowds are low because we don’t sell enough STs, and as ST holders make up the vast majority of the crowd, it’s those that need to be cheaper, unfortunately those on social media just don’t understand that basic fact.

It’s still £24 a game for this deal in the JWU (the most popular stand for walk ons), is that supposed to see a stampede to the ticket office?

Fans Forum 10th October 2022:

"SW stated that work was well under way for the 2023/24 season ticket offering and it was hoped that the public launch would be earlier than has been the case in recent seasons"

Almost 5 months later and of course, predictably, absolutely nothing on Season Tickets for 2023-24. No intention of getting them on sale early or attempting to capitalise on positive results. 

Meanwhile clubs up and down the country have been proactive - Bolton one example - have been on sale for several weeks at less than £250 per adult.

We will get the usual excuses - it's too early, it won't make any difference to sales, we don't know what league we will be in, blah blah blah but none of that prevents getting them on sale now and encouraging people to buy early with the potential to get PL football in there.

If Waggott or anyone else down there had any serious interest or intention of growing numbers and sustaining that beyond one or two games they would be focusing their efforts on this - and driving it properly - including proper incentives to buy early, proper advertising, contacting all database people now including lapsed people to really get numbers up or at least above and beyond 10-11000 for starters. Until we reach that 'milestone' these odd initiatives even if successful won't fill Ewood if we have 8000 season ticket holders to build on.

The last FF minutes suggested that a couple of hundred had been sold against a target of 500.

They never move in big numbers offers like that, as likelihood is if you haven't got a full or half ST by now then you aren't really going to want to part with £99 up front for 5 games.

The shit kick off times don't help on these sort of offers. As discussed at length in previous season ticket thread, if you struggle to get to Ewood midweek or for later kick offs on a weekend, our season ticket pricing (as it currently is) is no good to you.

If we were charging £250-300 per adult, a la Bolton or Preston, then I suspect quite a few would sign up even though they know they can't get to all the games, conscious of the night matches and the risk of Sky moving a load to inconvenient times. Even if you missed 5-6 games you'd still be getting the remaining 17 for around £15 a game which remains very good value.

But when your prices start at £399-450 then people can ill afford to shell that amount out knowing full well they are going to be missing a few.

Rovers get compensation from Sky for this to offset reduced sales as a result of changes. If they want people to turn up to watch they need to divert some of that into prices, and that's not just odd bundles or promotions, it is a comprehensive, well thought out, competitive season ticket deal.

Depends from whose view point. To encourage single match sales it's undoubtedly in the right direction. But every time you run a promo like this it reduces the value of your ST.  It's easy to criticise from multiple angles, I don't envy those having to strike the balance between revenue and attendance.

Indeed.

Now offers don’t bother me as a ST holder one bit, we’ve swathes of empty seats to fill. Obviously the reason we have so many in the first place is the fact our eye watering prices means we’ve a pitifully low number of ST holders.

However, I imagine some ST holders will be annoyed when forking out £400-£530 for a ST, as at those price points it can quickly lose its hefty built in discount over being a walk on, especially if you miss a few anyway and then there’s 4/5 offers put on.

So as Mike says, maybe don’t have some of the most expensive STs in the league then, and then the balance between ST holder value and attracting walk-ons isn’t an issue…

Reading the minutes there it doesn't sound like we'll be getting an enticing offer. If anything sounds like we'll be lucky to get away with a small increase...Don't think they'll ever learn.

Last year the club released a final 5 ticket at £99, but put various offers on that in the end if you bought those tickets individually you would have got them for £90.

Since announcing this seasons final 5 ticket at £99, we have had both the Norwich and Hull game receive separate offers.

So if you buy the next 4 home games individually it will cost you £85 (£20, £15, £30 & £20)

If there is something on that Luton game, I wouldn't be suprised at all if there is another offer on with the way things are going. Might even be another £10 for that "final push" like they did with the Bournemouth game last season.

Makes the final 5 ticket a bit redundant really.
