Be interesting to know who generated more income from ST's this season - Bolton, Preston or Rovers?

Every time (and there’s been a lot) we’ve mentioned the numbers that Preston have shifted to Waggott, the response is always “but they haven’t generated the revenue we have”.

And that's the rub sadly. That's all he cares about.

We’re not going to have the ‘problem’ of selling out the ground so how about the following?:

A (say) ten match season ticket where you don’t get a specific seat (but maybe a specific stand) but could choose which matches they were at the point those games went on sale.

This would sit between buying on a match by match basis and a full season ticket.

Probably a daft idea…

Do you think he even considers the extra income generated on match days by having more fans in the ground?

So we sell say c7k at £375-£450 to their c12/13k at £280-£380. Plus double the people to make ground purchases.

Is it that different?

Get him out the club for Christ sake whilst we have a fanbase left.

The biggest driver is without a doubt fear of missing revenue targets. There is absolutely no appetite for risk and they won’t gamble on selling more with reductions across the board.

Not since they pushed catering out to Sodexo. They seem happy bringing in a potentially limited but guaranteed revenue via the easiest path.

In a nutshell.

Unfortunately, it's a very short-sighted approach. What happened to the 'build a club' mantra him and his chum Tony used to spout?

Ask him what the difference in revenue was between Rovers, Preston and Bolton next time you see him if you would. He should know the exact amounts.

They should be trying to exceed targets, not just meet them.

Surely cheaper tickets is the easiest path… (having a go at them, not you 😀)

This is a symptom of the club and typifies owners who just aren't bothered. Waggott hit his target on season tickets this season and was almost boastful about it (that's how it came across in the FF minutes) and probably received some kind of bonus for that. His target should be the number of season tickets sold and given a budget to reach that. For example if he has a target of £3m align that to selling 12000 tickets so effectively reduce the prices by 25%. That would mean he has to do something radical to reach his objective but it also means getting off his backside and actually doing something. The lack of accountability amongst most of the senior people at our club is alarming but the real problem is the errant owners who allow these character prosper at the clubs expense.

Our latest accounts have ‘match day income’ as £3.4 million, PNEs have their ‘season and match day ticket sales’ as £3.01 million.

Thanks. So we'd need to sell about 1500 more ST's at £250 a pop than they have to bridge the 400k gap. Piece of piss at those prices!

Or bridge the gap by not having to hire expensive lawyers because we can't send off player registration forms in time!

Only paying Waggott ‘a salary he deserves’ would bridge most the gap 😁

In fairness, the difference between the clubs ‘director emoluments’ was only £25,000 (ours being higher)
