Where did that come from, anyway? Or was it just an assumption? Yeah as MB said it was on the initial launch, and Rich Sharpe said in an article that he had it confirmed there would be a second rise too. Hopefully someone has seen sense somewhere and realised that since sales have pretty much stopped since the first rise that a second rise probably isn't a good idea. Oh, that would be here. ☺️ Actually I'm sure it won't be. 😄 But if Saturday's estimate of 48 new season tickets since the price hike is anywhere close to reality, there will be a u-turn on a second hike I would have thought. I won't know about renewals until Saturday when, hopefully, there will be a full picture of what is going on. I'm dreading it. I would have suspect that the second rise would have been put into place, had we have been promoted.

I wouldn't expect us to be anywhere close to that. I'd expect it be in the low 7,000s.
Mattyblue
If only they had seen sense before the *first* hike. A pathetic limp to c8k is now as good as it’s going to get, I imagine. I wonder if at the upcoming FF Swag will be keeping to his line that we are well on course for an ‘uplift of 1500/2000 sales’ on last season? tomphil
Saturday will probably show about 6.5k taken seats and another 18k available in home sections 😒 Only in the depths of the Ewood corridors does that make any sense at all.
roverblue
Had a read through this earlier and just shows the impact of pricing on season tickets at our local rivals, full article linked. I notice Waggot has not come out in a similar fashion to explain our clubs thinking. Turnover for the season up to a record [operating] revenue of £14.8m. Increased revenue largely through commercial and stadium income (driven by improved season card sales). Annual pre-tax operating losses (pre depreciation and amortisation) reduced from £16m to £11.5m. Season card sales highest for over 60 years at c12,000. Average attendance at home games increased from 12,501 to 16,269. This is the highest average attendance at Deepdale for over 50 years. "Over the past season PNE has worked hard to redress this and to focus on a sustainable financial model. We are on the right track, but we still have work to do. The incredible support we have had from the fans, the increased season card sales and the record-breaking matchday crowds have all played a huge part in improving the club’s finances and we are extremely grateful to each and every fan for their support." https://www.lep.co.uk/sport/football/preston-north-end/preston-north-end-chairman-pens-lengthy-club-update-on-transfers-sustainability-ffp-last-season-next-season-and-even-the-roof-4147716 Edited May 22, 2023 by roverblue
Ossydave
Preston fan at work reckons they'll be nowhere near last seasons sales despite the price, ungrateful swines.
glen9mullan
Was 100% going to be a price hike at end of month, so hopefully they have listened.

They know crowds will pick up for a few months and boost the average but they still have to offer ticket deals to get the extra couple of thousand that wouldn't come if it was standard price. Lazy comfort zone dwellers.

Ben-2000
If the price goes up again, I'm out. Like many, I've got commitments over the next few weeks, so will be July time when I'm ready to buy.
Upside Down
Punishing people for not having the already excessive amount of money on hand to buy a season ticket in the small window they were available at a slightly cheaper rate. Its just wrong. Sums up what repugnant characters we have here at this club.
tomphil
Not only are Prestons a £100 cheaper but they do their early bird until June 5th and their adverts are everywhere. All over facebook even in the marketplace.

Guest
Well, 64 seats have been shaved off the count since Saturday, namely in the Riverside. Not sure why. They're in blocks of three or four in random areas, but mostly in E02. Hopefully all will become clearer on Saturday.

Maybe those that they don't want to sell because they fall behind the pillars and have an obstructed view of the goals?

OldEwoodBlue
The issue is, the prices go up again. People who normally buy in summer, still buy in summer (even if unhappy). The revenue therefore goes up. Waggott is vindicated, again. Waggott's bonus goes up. Starting price point for next season has now also gone up. Revenue for next season has therefore already gone up. What's not for a CEO to like ?
