18 (EIGHTEEN), on a Sunday🚀

Sorry, I've just got back onto my chair. Yes. 18. The sky is the limit, Matthew.

Pay day myth busted.

Unless you want to buy a specific seat, maybe next to friends, why would you buy a ticket now? The price will be the same at the July pay day, still before the first game of the season.

Because you’ve just been paid? You might have other priorities on July payday, I.e holidays etc.

Projections of 9000 for the start of the season. Absolutely pathetic.

Overpriced + none existant marketing = (maybe) 9k in sales

Well done Swag. Just go.

Out of interest, do either of you have season tickets?

Season Ticket Estimate

Latest: 8,589 (+36)

Notes:

  • The estimate is based upon the total number of saleable seats to home supporters (18,210), minus the amount of unavailable (sold) seats.
  • (+xx) represents the difference in season ticket sales from the previous estimate (usually 24 hours).
  • 159 seats in block W01 are marked as unavailable (sold), but are not saleable due to being cordoned-off. These are therefore excluded from the season ticket estimate.
  • 376 seats for supporters requiring ground-level font-row access are marked as unavailable (sold), but appear to be block-reserved rather than fully sold. These are therefore excluded from the season ticket estimate.
  • A seat is marked as unavailable for up to 28 minutes when added to the basket. It is not possible to exclude these from the estimate.

Yes I do - for both myself and my daughter.

What would you suggest is a good figure this summer? I appreciate that we had 18k around 12 years ago, but realistically that would take more than cost or marketing to achieve imo.

10k? I’ve no real opinion on Waggott but being realistic, what do we think would be successful this summer.

Given recent seasons numbers and continuing price rises coupled with the cost of living etc to get 9k before a ball is kicked is respectable.

However factor in it might only hit that number because of early bird uptakes, ergo price initiatives DO work which is a point argued against by some on here, bizarrely.

I wouldn't call c9k a 'success', how could having one of the lowest figures in the league, sales that wouldn't even be towards the top of the third division be labelled anything but poor.

But considering the prices I'll take it for now until a potential new CEO pursues a new strategy. I'd paint these sales as 'a relief' when you consider we were as as low as 7k in the summer of 2021/22, at least we've stabilised an alarming year on year decline. The support is there, it just needs a prod.

Being realistic, going off the prices Waggott charges, 9k is a decent effort.

But that's not the point.

We've only got to look at Preston and Bolton, two clubs of historically similar size and stature, who through attractive pricing policies, are putting our numbers to shame.

Preston averaged 1500 more than us at home over last season, total attendance that is. Season before 2500 less.

I don’t know the ins and outs of the cost over that time or their relative finishes in the league but that is a big jump from 2022

And we'd still need 3k walk ons to hit 12 thousand home fans....

I think that quite a few of the new season ticket sales will have come from the walk-on pool of last season. So that pool will have become smaller.

They cut the price of their ST to £280 for 22/23 and sold thousands more than they normally do.

If we sell similar amounts of STs to last season the home crowd in total will be similar to last season. Always the way here.
