Season tickets 2023-24 - what could/should be offered ?

Recommended Posts

Looks like Waggott's running a bit short and needs a 'top up' now that season ticket sales have effectively run their course.

Solution? Turn to the good old 1875 Membership scheme, exploit the most dedicated of supporters for some more cash because paying top end season ticket prices just isn't enough. Make them pay to get priority on away tickets.

Whilst trying to extract more cash from the regulars I'd love to know what efforts - serious efforts - he has made to get new people into buying season tickets. Running a bus for primary school kids doesn't count as they won't be buying tickets.

Of course zero mention of such a scheme when selling and advertising season tickets. I'd say it's pretty unreasonable to sell season tickets with no mention of running a membership scheme and then subsequently dilute the benefit of having such a season ticket by establishing a scheme where people can pay for priority over season ticket holders.

The only sense a membership like that makes to us is for non ST holders.

Pay say £20 a season but then they should be able to get £5 off each match day ticket they buy that season.

I imagine the only ones they will do will be a few quid off whatever they decide to make the category A games this season.

West Brom tickets start at 25 quid which appears to be a freeze so fair play to that.

Any 1875 needs to be aimed at getting more pick and choose walk ups to come a bit more often and hopefully turn them into half/full ST holders.

Buy a membership and get a discount on enough games to make it worthwhile.

Indeed, I'll stop the season ticket count there, but I can do a couple of things, still.

  1. An estimate of home tickets sold for our first game of the season, excluding walk-ons. I'll do this shortly before the game.
  2. A projection of how many season tickets I think we'll have sold by the first game of the season based on the last month's trend. That figure comes to 9,181.

See you next summer. 😄

That's what I was planing on doing.

Also there’s a fans forum on Monday so it will be interesting to see how close you were to the official figure…

I'm fully expecting them to say 7,500 🙈😆

Even better, more time for us to crash through that 9k barrier prior to the meeting. Swag will be chomping on a celebratory cigar, Birdy beaming in his free shirt.

(Nah, like Gooze said it will end up being 7 thousand and something, but he’ll still have hit his stretch target).

Sheff Weds are charging £59 for Cat A Championship football.

The owner spent 10 minutes slagging off Carlton Palmer in the press conference to introduce his new manager.

Foreign ownership? You can keep it.

I’m intrigued as to how they’re going to divide 23 clubs into 7 different categories…

Be £30 Blackburn End if they are freezing them from last season.

Unless they are making that fixture a super duper A+ game.

Also why can't they announce now what category each game will be?

I guess it keeps the office staff in a job!

The capacity of the Leppings Lane end has been reduced again too as it’s failed yet another safety certificate- needs condemning.

Is it the stand that’s unsafe or just the access to it?

(I guess you could argue that’s one and the same thing)
