Sheffield weren’t dirty, they got stuck in which is what you’d expect them to in a promotion clash. This isn’t a league for fancy dans. They’re a good footballing team and had an excellent spell in the first half and looked a very good side. We could easily have conceded at least 2. The cup tie will be tough and they’ll be out for revenge but today was a day to celebrate a great win not whinge about the opposition

Except for the lad that should have been sent off, twice!

It’s astonishing that anyone could say Sheffield were poor. They played us off the park for 30 minutes and we could not have complained if we’d been trailing at half time. We deserved the win but let’s not dismiss a quality side that is in the top 2 for a reason

great win lets see how far this team can go ,who would have thought that the best back four this season would include JRC and Carter and Pears would be as good has he has been after wigan last year

Firstly I thought today was a really good game of football between two teams who got on the front foot as often as possible. More important though was the win, an extremely hard fought win which in some of the post World Cup games didn't look like we had that fight in us. There has almost certainly been some changes to mentality, tactics and work rate and the result of this is remarkable. I honestly wasn't unduly worried about Sheffield equalising today, I thought we were comfortable as we kept our shape and discipline as they pushed on searching for a goal. Lots of really good performances today but I thought we were excellent in midfield as we closed down, passed the ball and tackled. The biggest change for me since Rotherham has been the intensity which has made us really difficult to play against. With intensity comes pace and all of a sudden the pitch looks a lot bigger as our side players hug the touchline and stretch teams.

It's difficult not to get carried away with our current form but the management and players have to keep their feet on the floor, keep working hard and see where we end up.

Well done Rovers again today.

He was lucky to stay on but that doesn’t make them a dirty team. You should have seen some of the teams in the 1970s, they had 5 or 6 players who liked to put a foot in

Does seem like a well known member!…

Weird that he thought they should be 4-1 up. The Sheffield Chaddy.

Massive win and what a february/march it's been so far. The annual Tony Tombola death spiral seems a long time ago thankfully.

Not for Sunderland

They showed why they are top two in the first half, but they also showed why it isn't done and dusted in the second half.

That said, we hit the frame twice, and we generally looked assured of coming away with something. Thankfully, it was all three points.

11 unbeaten and only one defeat so far this year.

Starting to think the whole LOB cock up was intentional and part of some clever plan to galvanise the squad!!!

Well, well, well... Six points off Sheffield United who were out of sight not that long ago. They'll be getting the jitters, now!

A dingle could count the gap on just one hand now…

We've got a decent run of winnable games now with Norwich (h) and Coventry (h) standing out as the tough ones. Then we have Burnley (h), Luton (h) and Millwall (a).

Three tough games to end the season on. Four if you include Preston away before the Burnley game.

SU have Reading next week, then a few tough games coming up. Luton (h), Sunderland (a), Norwich (a)... And erm Wigan... But then Burnley (a). On paper they have easier final games than us.

Looking at the fixtures for us, SU and Boro I can't see us challenging for the automatics, but play offs are looking good if JDT and the team can keep it up.

There’s real reason to get excited here. Things seem to have really clicked lately and this is the most enjoyable time to be a Rovers fan in well over a decade.

We were fantastic again today with every player doing their bit and some.

Buckley was fantastic first half, Dolan had them absolutely terrified so they had to resort to booting him, Thomas has been a revelation - his athleticism is massive.

Shout out to Gallagher… a proper target man performance today. While he can frustrate massively at times he’s in the side on merit at the moment.

Hyam looked like prime Hendry today, only with a more conservative hair do. Travis fantastic, but Pickering just edging those two to MOTM - lovely finish and a rock solid performance all game. 8’s, 9’s and 10’s all round.

How they finished the game with 11 men was ridiculous. Horrible side. McBurnie is an absolute wanker, but fortunately for us he’s an absolute donkey too.

How do you even give a motm there? Maybe Trav as the captain given the entire team played great.

Gallagher for mine.

Lead the line well and put pressure on their back 3 all game. Allowed the 3 behind him to play - sadly he's not a goal scorer, but if he plays like that the rest of the season I'll be delighted.

At least JDT learned quicker than TM.... 🙂

He hasn't actually changed the style of play at all, but I'm too tired to have that discussion today.
