bigbrandjohn Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 It isn’t today’s result that matters. It is the result of today that matters. If the players take it in their stride, be proud of their performances and channel that into a final push into the play offs then all will be worth it. No time to feel sorry for ourselves. We still have dragons to slay. 7 Quote

The subs simply sunk us(and a cracking shot),we invited them to attack. To mis-quote from "The Sound of Music", "I am 76, going on 77!", @SIMON GARNERS 194And would love to see Rovers at the New Wembley while I still can. (And yes, I know; it neither scans, nor rhymes!) 1 Quote

wilsdenrover Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 I’m shocked that the two Manchester teams have been kept apart… 7 Quote
Miller11 Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 I was absolutely gutted when their winner went in, but I’m no longer disappointed but really angry. Morton is a disgrace. I thought he was feigning injury at the time, replay confirms it. Unforgivable from him and I hope his teammates let him know. Ship him back to Liverpool. The subs didn’t help either, for all the reasons previously stated on here. Brittain has been effective when brought on when we are chasing a game, but disastrous when we are hanging on. Big question marks over his defensive abilities. Aside from that it was a really good performance. I thought we were good value for the win and until the changes we were wholly comfortable. Special mention to Travis - he really stepped up today and was superb. Thought the ref was garbage… about the only thing he got right was ignoring Morton’s cheating. I’d love to beat that lot in the playoffs and I’d really fancy our chances over 2 legs. 5 Quote
booth Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Hopefully they are absolutely humiliated, and along with a points deduction, fail to get into the play offs. 7 Quote
RoversTilliDie Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Fantastic display from Rovers, could'nt have asked for more from them. We were unlucky it was'nt 3-3 when Hedges hit the post and the ball rolled right across the goal line. We could have won it if it was'nt for their keeper. One point Man city v Sheff utd in the semi final, it could have been us. Lets hope Rovers take todays football into the remaining Championship fixtures. 1 Quote
DeeCee Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 The only positive I can take from today is we don't have to go to Wembley and face City. 4 Quote

All four teams will be playing "Away". (If it helps, when I first saw the draw, I wondered about posting an - understandably - snarky comment referring to the cricket history of Bramall Lane and wondering if they still had a scoreboard from those days.) 1 Quote
Crozzy Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Just got back and seen Robinson incident back. Wow how has he not seen red for that tackle on Hedges. Shocking 2 Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 (edited) The fact that Utd and City have been somehow kept apart again, is a bit suss to me. A final between those two is a wet dream for the powers that be. I really hope Brighton piss on their chips. Edited March 19, 2023 by Gavlar Somerset Rover! 1 Quote

LDRover Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Just back, very proud of the team today, if there is one thing JDT and thus group of players have done, it's to get that connection back with the supporters. Two evenly matched teams and we were so so unlucky to come out of it on the wrong side but it is a horrible place to lose, as it was in '93 - shithouse club and fans. Great support from us that made for a great atmosphere, the fans were a credit to the club today. Hopefully this kicks us on for the rest of the season rather than us dwell on the disappointment. 5 Quote
Popular Post ben_the_beast Posted March 19, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 19, 2023 (edited) Thought we deserved to win. The Fodderingham double save, Hedges hitting the post, Gallagher having a total lack of awareness to get onto the end of a ball across the 6 yard box. On the ref, he totally bottled sending Robinson off. That changes the game completely. Twice now in the past month we've seen Shef United inexplicably not having a man sent off against us. It was also a stone wall penalty. Thier player did a Schmeichel starfish. On our performance we were good, though worryingly open at the back at times. If McAtee knew how to finish he'd be some player. I'm not going to give Jdt pelters for his subs. Multiple times this season he's switched to a back 5 and we've seen the game out. Conceding 90 seconds after the subs completely scuppered us. I felt their equaliser was more a case of a few players getting sucked into a little scrap and it fell to their fella on the floor who was able to scoop it out. The winner, regardless of laws of the game, Morton should hang his head in shame. He was fine and his rolling around cost us the game. I hope Boro get top 2. I think we can beat Sheffield United in the playoffs. And it would be sweet revenge. Though I'd rather they slip into admin and get docked points. That would be lovely for such a shithouse team who haven't even paid for half their players. Gutted we didn't win, but the game has come at a good time. We can still take confidence from our performance and most the players have a nice break now. Come back firing on all cylinders and the playoffs are truly there for the taking, especially after yesterday's favourable results. Many teams around us are due to play each other in the next few weeks. Birmingham, then Norwich, then Huddersfield and we will be half way there. Disappointing day, but onwards and upwards we march. We'll still be going to Wembley this year. Edited March 19, 2023 by ben_the_beast 12 Quote
Backroom Tom Posted March 19, 2023 Backroom Posted March 19, 2023 Got nothing against the opposition, Ndiaye in particular was class, one of those games that either team would be unlucky to lose 4 Quote
USABlue Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Just devastated, great game, they seemed to get sway with a lot but that loss lays firmly at JDT's door. Needed to leave alone a little bit longer. Quote
