Guest Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Weren't Big Club one of the ones we narrowly beat at Ewood? I seem to remember them giving us a good game, and it being very nervy. Anyway, we really need a cup final turn out from the team for this one, and a clear commitment to doing whatever it takes to secure a play off position. I can see it being a difficult game, not just because it is effectively a dead rubber for Big Club, but because the stakes are higher for our players. Ideally we will maintain momentum and preserve a clean sheet. Head - Big Club 1 - Rovers 1 Heart - Big Club 0 - Rovers 2 History - Big Club 1 - Rovers 9 COYB! Smash em! Quote
Backroom Mike E Posted March 23, 2023 Backroom Posted March 23, 2023 Think it was the BRFCS Admin/Mod outing! Adam Wharton scored? 1 Quote

Sweaty Gussets Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Kaminski had a blinder...Hogan should have had 3 in that game. We certainly rode our luck. I think we're a better team now, but we're still not great away from home. 1 Quote
TheRevAshton Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 We've certainly had the better of 'big club' so far this season. Of the 3 times we've played, they were definitely tougher in the first game - they looked great at that stage in the season, but seem to have declined since. We need to win this one and I think we will... huge game for us. 0-1 Rovers - BBD to score! Quote
smiller14 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 I'm heading over from Cardiff now the rail strike is cancelled - will be more than happy to meet any like-minded folk for a pint. 1 Quote
ben_the_beast Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 (edited) One thing to note for this game is that every team in the top 10 (Watford) are playing each other excluding Burnley (vs Sunderland) and Rovers (vs big club). This round of fixtures literally couldn't be any better. Focus on ourselves and if we get 3 points it will see us making up good ground on the teams around us or increasing the gap between us and 7th. It's a golden opportunity. Edit: Coventry are playing Stoke but where they're in such good form my brain accidentally included them in top bunch of teams. Edited March 23, 2023 by ben_the_beast 3 Quote

Putting a 7 point gap between us and 7th at this stage in the season would be a massive mental barrier for the chasing pack to overcome. 2 Quote
Guest Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Díaz back amongst the goals, at a ground he's got good history at. We've done really well at this place in the last few years so really back us to win. Keep those chasing at a distance. Get to that Burnley game far enough out of sight so that the only focus is the derby, and not the teams on our backs. Quote
BRFC4EVA Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 I don't think Bham are anything like the team we played earlier in the season at Ewood, when they were in v good form. Of their last 8 they've lost 5, drawn 1 and won 2. We need to be going there and winning! Quote
Ben-2000 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 1,900 allocation, reasonable prices, not on TV and a massive chance of reaching the playoffs this season. There's no doubt we should be selling this out. Quote
roversfan99 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Dear to get too on the trains though and even if the strikes have been cancelled, there has been a lot of uncertainty. 1 Quote
yellowsubmarine Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Win this, get some points gap between us and 7th and it will be a blow psychologically to the rest of the chasing pack like Norwich, Coventry, West Brom. The earlier we get those playoff safety points sorted, the better. i dont forsee that many points when we face burnley, millwall and luton at the end of the season. 1 Quote
Mattyblue Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I imagine we’ll be not far off selling out, we had close to that for a Friday night Sky game at Stoke. The initial strike will have put folk off. And now the trains have shot up. 1 Quote
Ben-2000 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 If we can't muster 1,900 then we don't deserve a team fighting for the play offs. If the trains are expensive, car share with your mates or get on a coach. 1 Quote

Ben-2000 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 We should be filling that. Could understand it if it was the usual mediocre crap we've had over the years Quote
MarkBRFC Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 It'll be close if it doesn't sell out. Not having that we don't deserve a team fighting for the play offs if we don't though. 1 Quote

Ossydave Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 You can get the train for circa £40 if you don't mind split ticketing it, that's from Accy anyway so possibly cheaper depending where people live..... 1 Quote

tomphil Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I don't think there is cause for a meltdown if it isn't sold out there'll still be plenty there as usual for Saturday games. There are a lot of home games coming up as well and money for a lot only stretches so far. Ave away following this season is about 1,500 i think so that's not bad at all considering the home gates and the ups and downs in form especially away. For every Sheff U effort or QPR win theres been a Rotherham or Stoke so a lot are a bit wary of the no show performances. Also consider we haven't had Preston yet, Wigan was moved and at night i seem to recall and Bumley only give a few so our away turnouts are as solid as anybody's. 1 Quote
RoversTilliDie Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I see Burnley are complaining about their 2,000 ticket allocation for the Ewood match, they were'nt complaining at turf moor when Rovers only got 2,000 tickets. On to next weeks game, Rovers need to get something out this one if were to put in a serious challenge for the top 6. 1 Quote
