ballboy Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 I enjoyed listening to the feature about left footers but for me there were a couple of glaring omissions in Noel Brotherston and Simon Garner. I saw Garner score with both feet but anyone who remembers his second goal in the 4-0 win over Man City on that fateful April day in 1989 could be in no doubt that he favoured his left side. Appreciate that the other contributors may be a little young to remember these two 80's legends but was surprised that Ian didn't mention them. Quote

I feel like I've let you down 😆 As a matter of academic interest - how many folks on here would consider Simon & Noel to be left-footed ? 🤔 Quote
ballboy Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 I've just been watching some old footage and although Noel always played on the left it appears he took corners right footed so like MGP he appears to be genuinely 2 footed. I remember a league cup game against Forest circa 81 when I think they were European champions and he left Viv Anderson with twisted blood that night. So I may need to retract his nomination if we are only considering those players who only used their right foot for standing on. Quote
