Thomas has 4 goals and 9 assists in 41 Championship games plus has the pace out wide we lack. I don't think we got to see the best of him here. I should hope we didn't see the best of him here, seeing as he was dreadful.

Including free additions, it’s possible to use £10m effectively. Yeah, of course it can be done, but the chances of nailing 4/5 signings at those prices is highly unlikely. I'd kill to get back to that position where Mark Hughes seemed to be able to pluck champions off trees. I note Chaddy's done the same----even Shearer features in his list-- as if anybody wasn't going to get a tune out of him! No--I was thinking of more recently and I've given some good examples. Enough to justify my original conclusion I think. Most of our loan players have been disappointing too. I mentioned Branthwaite who was a revelation when he went to Everton after being rubbish for us. Only Elliot has really looked like a top player in the making. But galling when these look good somewhere else. What's wrong with our club? On reflection, scrub that. Our coaching staff can't be very good apart from the Academy. Branthwaite came only as 18 years and played only 3 games cos of Harwood Bellis was signed during the same period. I will give you some examples over the last 10 years, like Rhodes, Gestede, Conway, Graham, Dack, Smallwood, Nyambe, Lenihan Plus loan signings like Elliott, Tosin and Reed. And all these alternate histories being proposed could have included him doing a Dack, or indeed a Scotty, and getting some horrendous injury, perhaps twisting his neck while watching Pearsy’s endless boots up to our lead-booted ace striker. heres hoping he moves for 60 million and the slum hamlet of pune has an hissy fit at the money they could of got if they had held firm til summer. club for sale. Several of them didn't have wiggle room within FFP to pull it off. Which is why it was daft timing - in the summer those clubs would have been on a fresh year of the FFP cycle.

Wharton could have scored 10 goals by January and probably not attracted a bid of £40+ million. There's a ceiling to the price of Championship players. But I take your point there should be a premium on key players in January - instead we rolled out the discount.

At every single club in world football there is a premium put on players in the January window. At Rovers it's a firesale discount.

benhben
One of the sky sports pundit has also added him in their England squad that should go to the Euros. He won't this summer but he's going to be on their radar straight after. He'd be valued at 60-70 million at his age If he gets a cap. We definitely undersold him as we were begging for some cash quick, but I've been surprised how easily he's adapted to the prem. Thought he'd be a reserve for a year or so. roversfan99
Doubt it. Got to save space for Henderson, Maguire, Rashford, Chilwell and probably otherd who are injured and/or havent played well/barely at all in a long while.

Nah, he was bossing games in the Championship whilst being held back by his teammates. He was on a different wavelength to his plodding teammates - you could see him getting frustrated that they weren't making the runs he wanted.

Popular Post Neal
Absolutely made up for Adam, potentially the best player we've ever brought through the academy... There's not much to be proud of as a Rovers fan but this is definitely something to be proud of. Top lad.
Tyrone Shoelaces
If he does play the Chicken Chokers will have a few more quid to spirit away. He must be in with a chance now. Nobody else can pick a pass like he does in the current squad. Anybody still thinking £18 million was a good price ? Popular Post arbitro
I'm really pleased for Adam and his family and anybody with any sense could see his potential coming through the ranks at Rovers. Hearing this though only increases my intense dislike of Waggott, Pasha and the owners. The fee we got for him was well below what many thought he was worth and we were right and not with the benefit of hindsight. Of course he is playing on a bigger stage in the PL and with better players but the majority of us could see what he had playing in an average Championship team. Palace completely took advantage of the financial situation that the owners have put themselves in through their questionable business dealings. Unforgivable.
G Somerset Rover
Delighted for Adam, really am. Further Illustrates how we had our pants pulled down big time though and we could have seen him in our colours for a further six months. Cheers Venky’s, cheers Steve.
