roverandout
I would say France Spain Brazil Argentina England Germany are the main contenders. Then you have Portugal Netherlands

chaddyrovers
Not impressed by squad picked by Tuchel. Walker, Burn and Henderson being picked, I'm shocked he picked them my squad keeper :- Pickford, Ramsdale, Henderson Defenders :- TAA, James, White, Stones, Guehi, Colwill, Konsa, Lewis-Skelly, Hall(I know he is injured but for me, he would be my first choice left back when fit.) Livramento. midfielders :- Rice, Wharton, Gomes, Bellingham, Jones, Anderson, Gibbs-White, Attackers :- Kane, Solanke, Rogers, Rashford, Palmer, Bowen, Foden, Hudson-Odoi Edited March 14 by chaddyrovers
chaddyrovers
With the world cup in the North America during the summer, The favourites for me are Brazil, Argentina, Spain, with Just below that us, France and Germany
roverandout
Don't know why everyone rates Brazil so highly. Weakest selection of players in 20 years. The days of Ronaldo Ronaldinho Rivaldo Carlos cafu are long gone. They barely possess any true world class players. Outside of vinicius Jr I don't think they have any. Maybe the keepers. The only reason I think people could have them as one of the favourites is the climate in North America they're picking players from wolves west ham Newcastle flamengo Santos. Yes some of our players are from there yet Brazil are the darlings Edited March 14 by roverandout

That’s why I mention the likes of Colombia and Uruguay. On American soil I would currently prefer to play Brazil than those two (and of course Argentina). Tugayisgod
Wharton in U21 squad, so that makes a nonsense of those saying he s not fit enough for full squad . Bring back Southgate! Tbh, looking at both squads, think I'd rather watch the u21s under Carsley than the 1st team under tuchel Edited March 14 by Tugayisgod

Yes some of our players are from there yet Brazil are the darlings They seemingly arent doing that well in qualifying but im sure they will qualify and as the World Cup is over a year away form means nothing. Palmer, Foden and Bellingham have all been out of form but no worries there. But it doesnt require this narrative of England being unfairly perceived in comparison. I just think on paper they look strong all over. Alisson is a brilliant keeper, Gabriel is one of the best defenders around at the moment and Marquinhos is still a top defender. Bruno is one of the best midfielders doing what he does and its not just Vinicius in attack, him, Rodrygo and Raphinha are all top players and then youve got the likes of Cunha, Joao Pedro, Savinho etc around that. We won't agree but fullback with Brazil is weak. Yes I forgot about gabriel. Midfield doesn't particularly stand out. I don't rate Rodrygo. His goals mask his performances. Their striker options are particularly weak
islander200
He has been called up to the under 21s so presumably Tuchel just hasn't picked him rather than listening to Crystal Palace request

Backroom DE. Posted March 14 Backroom Share Posted March 14 Odd choices. If he's thinking about selecting Henderson and Walker for next year's WC then lol. Good luck. If he isn't then why bother calling either up now?

Mercer
When Wharton moves to a 'fashionable' club eg City, Chelsea he will become an automatic slection. It's that simple.

It wasn't a difficult route but alot of teams that have win world cup or euros have had simpering paths. I remember France getting an easy path on the way to winning the world cup. Portugal stunk their way to winning the euros in 2016. People shouldn't diminish southgate's achievements

G Somerset Rover
Good to see that Tuchel isn’t clinically insane. He cited his recent injury and he’ll be training with the seniors too: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/sport/it-was-very-close-thomas-tuchel-explains-why-crystal-palace-star-missed-out-on-senior-england-squad/

Reads to me more like 'he's close, but I didn't think he's ready yet so I went with Henderson for his experience. I thought about picking both but we wanted an extra keeper instead'

U21 should be good for Adam. He will be ready for the WC then if we qualify
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted Saturday at 09:55 Share Posted Saturday at 09:55 According to the BBC both Utd and City are preparing to battle it out for Wharton’s signature this Summer. Somebody please tell me again that £ 18 million was a really good deal for us.
