And people think this place is strange 😀 2 Quote

I still think we need another central midfielder with more experience because we are one or two injuries away from needing to use Wharton game in game out, and if his form dipped and/or he struggled with the physical intensity especially with mid week games, it would be unfair. But looks very talented and much more at home in the first team picture than Vale or Phillips. What's happened to the Buckley from the back end of last season, goal of the month against Preston and goal of the season against Birmingham. Quote

He was excellent; his first touch, his vision, his range of passing, his desire to go forwards, and get stuck into a tackle. It was all there, really promising. Let's hope he can push on, gain a bit of strength & be a real asset. Mr & Mrs Wharton must be over the moon. Making his full debut against Blackpool he played like he had been in the starting 11 for 5 or 6 seasons. Very impressive display. 2 Quote

Andy Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Really pleased with this - and how quickly we've moved to tie him down. Get Phillips and Batty sorted and the future is very bright. 3 Quote

Darwen Rover 007 Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Great news, saves us £5m in the market in my view... potentially could be £10-15m upwards if he carries on Quote
chaddyrovers Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Excellent news and another player on long term contract Quote
bluebruce Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Very glad to hear Adam has committed to another 5 years, going to be exciting watching him develop. Even if we lost him as a contract rebel at the end of that, we would still be entitled to compensation as he will be under 24. It's so important for the club to protect its assets like this. 2 Quote
