Adam W is one of the best passers of the ball, first timers, I've seen, ever. His one touch passes aren't bad either 😊

His work rate is at the level needed in the PL.

Palace should be 3 or 4 up by now so it's not over yet...

Ok now, 3,that's a truer reflection of the game

** I tried to post this as the site went off. Palace got their 4

But, how bad are Manure

I still think he's a couple yards off being defensively prem quality. Thought he seemed a bit in limbo between defence/attack at times, though picks up loose balls as a result and tidies up but he is strolling around at times. Made a couple good tackles in that game though. Nowhere near ready for england 1st team in my opinion but he's looking very good.. thought Olise looked great also

Watched Palace v United.

No surprises for me.

Adam strolled it.

Wee Dougie is one smart cookie.  Dougie v Broughton / Waggott - little wonder Palace had our pants down.

Wharton is a future England captain and will be world class within 3 years.  Posted several times since he broke on the scene that he was special and one day would run England's midfield.

Broughton / Waggott, hang your heads in shame and feck off - you gave him away.

I just can’t understand why there wasn’t significant and competing interest from elsewhere, which would have helped drive the price. It was clear to all of us who watched him regularly and obviously Dougie Friedman but why were City / Liverpool / Newcastle etc blind to such a talent.

I think there was a lot of interest.

But because of ffp restrictions nobody really had the money available to make move with the exception of the top drawer clubs who don't have as much need for him. So palace swooped in.

Casemiro & Evans at CB. What could go wrong?

Almost cruel really with the Palace attack.

Casemiro, OMG he had a nightmare. Evans and Ericsson little letter. Amrabat, a modern day wannabe Tommy Smith but failed. They need massive improvement in recruitment.

Eze and Olise are the 2 that make Palace such an entertaining team nowadays, both brilliant to watch.

Mainoo is overated a bit I think, still very naive.

Wharton is in a more complete team at the moment that is flying but obviously his quality is there for all to see.

The new Jim Baxter, only he’s not Scottish.

yet Man Utd’s midfielders couldn’t lay a finger on him.

There's no way Casemiro is a legit 32. He can't move.

For a successful businessman it appears Ratcliffe hasn't really done due diligence on the Rags. The whole squad needs a huge overhaul and will cost hundreds of millions to do that. There isn't a lot of value in the current squad outside of two of three. The coaching team is second rate (McClaren ffs) and that will cost money to get shut of them. Who would want to manage them and essentially have to start from scratch? The theatre of dreamers is falling down and Carrington is in a huge state of disrepair.

It's a real mess and the majority of football fans are finding it hugely amusing.

Whilst I would be surprised if it happened, surely Adam deserves a couple of friendlies before the Euro's for England?  The better the players around him, the better he is.  Not surprising given the nature of his game.   Imagine taking a midfield of Bellingham, Rice Cole Palmer, Mainoo, Wharton and Foden.

Wharton offers something really different, but realistically I can't see him getting a game above those lads but you never know, if Henderson can...

I wonder if we've inserted clauses for international caps etc?

Indeed. Now I’m not comparing their ability for one second, but the best player to have ever played the game, Messi, is famed for just strolling around in matches. The best make the beautiful game look the easiest.

As an aside, not bad for a lad who ‘had to improve defensively’:

The fact that he is already running PL games and the debate is when he’ll be playing for England shows how Palace had our pants down and no mistake.

Oven-ready top class Premier League mid-fielder. A lock-picker.

Ready to go from Day 1 as we all know he would be.

£25M to pay the bills---we are owned by idiots.

I've watched a few Palace games since AW went there and they seem to be a good partnership. Wharton just pins the midfield whilst Hughes can get around the pitch more. I agree on last nights viewing Hughes probably caught the eye more, but what I liked in Wharton is that we saw a lot more of the side of his game that was supposedly lacking a little at Rovers. We know given more of the ball what he can do, but we saw a good level of discipline.

I still think of Hughes as being the kid that broke through at Derby years ago. Just checked and he's 29 years only and now played approaching 200 games in the Premier League. He's been a good, solid pro without ever being in any kind of discussion for a spot in the national side.

FFP has played a blinder for Palace here, due to many of the top end clubs being terrified of spending money they could get him for a snip, can sell him on for double if not more than what they paid in a very short space of time. Realistically they could have him for 12 months and bag 40 million profit.

between Eze, Olise and Wharton they’re probably looking at netting north of 150 million in the next year.

I hope we have some clause for an England call up. One thing that struck me is he's looking far better at being goal side on a deeper position and reading interceptions, which must make him desirable for someone like City, its very Rodri esque, which is best compliment I can pay him.

I sat near to the Newcastle and Spurs scouts at the Watford home game, they must be kicking themselves now.

Peanuts for Raya, now worth £40 million, relative peanuts for Adam now worth £40 million and rising. Tom Cairney for £3 million later he's captaining a Premier League side and worth £20 million all because we have captives who flog to pay their tab.
