I believe Phillips will stay to cover batth, hyam and Carter and we will loan out Barnes and sell S.wharton 2 Quote

Displaced Rover Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Number 8 for them has been getting very worked up trying to climb out of Ash Phillips pocket. 1 Quote
Guest Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Well... An improvement on last season's first game against them. 👍 Quote

Second half he put himself about a bit and did ok. Might have bulked up a bit, looked slightly less lightweight than usual. Still don’t think he’s anywhere near good enough Quote
Tugayisgod Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Phillips and Pickering the stand outs according to Sharpe and Jackson. Not sure Ash can be held back much longer Quote
BigBar Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Great to here Philips seems to be putting in a decent display even if it's only pre season. Quote

Would much prefer him to break through and not spend funds on a 30 year old. If he does step up Hyam, Carter, S Wharton and Ash would be plenty of cover. Loan out Barnes knowing Pickering can cover in a pinch. 1 Quote

Scirocco Steve Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Game of opinions I suppose but thought Markanday looked pretty decent. Vale improved second half and was putting himself about more. Second of the first game though we looked decent but no one to put the ball in the net. Philips looked good as did Britton. Gallagher still a step behind every time..... Quote

philipl Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Phillips born 26 June 2005 will be first choice by the end of the season with a scrap between the other 4 over who to partner him. 1 Quote

rigger Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 So, we have a good defence, with cover for injuries. A good midfield, with cover for injuries. Poor or untried forwards. Where should we invest ? Quote
Guest Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 (edited) While I'm sure the transfer window is far from over, let's not forget that we've got two new attackers that aren't playing today before we start panicking about lack of goals. Edited July 8, 2023 by goozburger Quote
