It is going to be one interesting run in.

Usually one team romps away with top spot, this season it's a 2 possibly 3 horse race between Leicester, Leeds, and Ipswich for 1st.

Southampton look safe for a play off spot behind the top 3 which leaves West Brom, Coventry, Hull, PNE, and Norwich fighting for the 2 playoff spots.

Relegation, unfortunately with Rovers very much in play, is even tighter.

Rotherham are gone.

Sheff Wednesday have won 5 of 6 but are still second from bottom on 38 points. Yet Watford in 12th are only 6 points better off.

Sunderland in 10th have lost 5 in a row and conceivably could be dragged into a relegation fight, albeit slight.

Let's hope for results to go Rovers way tonight.

That tells you all you need to know. We were relying on the teams down at the bottom staying there. That was never going to happen.

IF (and it’s a big IF) we win on Saturday, it won’t look as bleak.

There would be grounds for hope and the table should look better.

Fail to win and I just don’t see where one is coming from.

Definitely. This season is going to be one of those seasons were the team fourth from bottom is going to need a more than average number of points to stay up. Apart from us and Rotherham everybody else is fighting for their lives.

It will only look less bleak until the run of fixtures coming up after it. For that reason, as you suggest, it is a must-win against Plymouth. Not a game for a 5-man defence at home....

Looking at the fixtures, I think there's a fair chance that a win would make the table look better for the first time in weeks.

Have to say I'm not confident though, on the evidence of Tuesday.

Also worth noting that the likes of Hull, Ipswich and Coventry were all getting much lower gates at this level, down in the teens rather than 20's, until recently.

Then all three got taken over and new owners delivered a wave of optimism and engagement and attendances rocketed.

Still apparently such a fate is impossible here.

It is "impossible" because our owners don't want to sell.

Rotherham have terminated Daniel Ayala's contract. He has played seven games and was sent off twice.

When he played for us I did quite rate him but he was just never available enough. I have to say I'd have never have offered him a contract after training with us then trying to slope over to the Middle East for a bigger pay day.

Leeds 2 nil up at Sheffield Wednesday.

Sheff Wed were the better team until Leeds scored just before half time

Good result for us.

I expect the Wednesday game to be one of the tougher ones in our run in...
