Yes that is sad. Those types of industries were more than just work -often supported a whole community on a variety of levels. Social clubs, football teams, cricket teams, table tennis teams etc. Not to mention the socialisation of young men in the company of older men who would show them (usually) how to behave.

I guess also in those days there was little else to do except kick a ball against a wall in a backstreet somewhere. Now, far too many other distractions often involving a phone or computer. (edit to self -stop it or you'll be talking about jumpers for goalposts next....)

edit -and as for getting a ref -why on earth would any sane person do it?

Everton deducted a further two points for another FFP breach.

The punishment was reduced from the requested 5 points and amongst the reasons for this was they’d already had a points deduction this reason.

Surely a second breach should bring a bigger punishment rather than a lesser one??

Of course, we still await Manchester City’s punishment…

I dont quite understand it fully, but had they failed FFP based on an individual year's P&L I would agree with you.

But as it's over a 3 year period, 2 of the years which are contributing to this recent 'fail' are also 2 of the years which made up the previous 'fail'. I think that is taken into account. Plus was part of the points deduction originally not for trying to cover it up or being uncooperative first time?

I don’t know the answer to your question but what I do know is I’m happy with any mitigation that keeps them above Burnley 😄

There’s a story on the BBC site regarding Danny Murphy. It says he was addicted to the “ Colombian Marching Powder “ after he finished playing football. He couldn’t have been on it at Rovers because he couldn’t summon up much more than jog then.

You only have to listen to that tosspot Neville, mumbling away to his mate sat next to him in the commentary box. He should never be allowed to co-commentate on a Man Ure game either.

Man City's charges are from years ago whilst Everton and Forest charges are from last season. Rumours are Everton face more punishment for this season finances next season. Also where is the Everton's owner and what is the latest with the takeover aswell?

Palace deserved this win for me, yes Liverpool have had some chances but very poor finishing cost them, Palace should have score 3 or 4 in the first half.
