Helpful for him I imagine, whilst his career is over he can now use the addiction angle to try and garner some sympathy and potentially muddy the waters of him parting ways

There's something off behind the scenes at the Etihad. To go from an all conquering machine to losing 4 or maybe 5 in a row is a hell of a drop.

They poach the best teenagers, coaches and suchlike, they have a squad of superstars and they have infinite money. 

Sports washing City should have enough depth to put up with a few injuries.

City have a squad where you could put out two starting 11s and both should compete for the title. There's no hiding behind injuries when you have the squad thay City have and the money they have spent.
