Norbert Rassragr Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 I'd laugh if it turned out that Luton end d up benefitting and avoiding relegation because of this. 2 Quote
frosty Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 This is the season for them to have it; they've improved a lot lately and were well on their way to climbing into mid-table. They'll still comfortably stay up. Hilarious that it's only November and a team that has struggled for a good chunk of the season so far has just received a 10 point deduction and they're still above that lot. 1 Quote

arbitro Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Everton have said they are to appeal so if the authorities are true to form they have gone in hard and will be prepared to compromise. I haven't seen any mention of a fine yet. Quote
unsall Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Early favourites next season in the Championship for promotion. 🤣🤣🤣 Man City Chelsea Everton 4 Quote
RoverDom Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Meaningless really. Everton would have been mid table around 50 points it's not going to take any where near 40 points to stay up this season. I think ending up with the squad they've got is punishment enough Quote

Like that is going to happen ! I would give them massive fines then spread the money around lower league clubs. Edited November 17, 2023 by rigger 1 Quote

RoverDom Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Punishment seems harsh - surely a transfer embargo is more proportionate? Quote

I don't see it as harsh, if you break the rules there is a punishment. The punishment should be such, that it puts others off, the temptation to break the rules. Quote

Shows how low quality that league is. Imagine 15 or 20 years ago receiving a 10 point fine. You'd have to be in the top six or you'd be fucked. 16 minutes ago, rigger said: I don't see it as harsh, if you break the rules there is a punishment. Also their match against us at Ewood that year was fixed. Watch the highlights and tell me with a straight face that it wasn't. 1 Quote

Exactly, the punishment, or lack of it, did not put clubs off breaking the rules. Quote
Cherry Blue Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Main headline on 6pm BBC news! Everton wont be relegated but to finish further down league will cost them. Too early to say if harsh or maybe PL are to dish out on Chelsea & City. Break the rules and they should suffer. Quote

What's happened to that? Quote

metalrover Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 What happened to the reported hundreds of City breaches? All forgiven and forgotten? Quote
davulsukur Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 Will it just be Everton that get punished with a points deduction? Surely they have now set the precedent and other clubs will follow. Man City and Chelsea are the most obvious candidates but it just feels like they will both get away with it. Newcastle? Although I feel like they sold a player or 2 to comply, plus I'm sure there would be a brown envelope being passed over from there owners to avoid any real punishment, if they have breached the rules of course. Forest also spent a lot of money the other season, not sure if they should be a bit concerned? Quote

They are being investigated but there are that many breaches (115), it could be a couple of years before a decision is made apparently! 🤷♂️ Quote
RoverDom Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 Are Chelsea being investigated or have they just spent a fuck ton of money? Quote
