What would be the odds for Szmodic, Wharton and Brereton getting relegated this season.

And Rovers to pass them on the way up?

Same Hirst was good player but JDT never used him properly

he must have been severely lacking match fitness or he was injured,he literally could`nt even run 5 yards or trap a football when he was here, the away game at wigan that season,he was absolutely shocking

It does seem that way unfortunately.

Awful afternoon again for Ipswich. Let a 2-0 lead slip, at 3-2 go down to 10 men. Have the fortitude to keep going and draw it back to 3-3... then throw it away in the 96th minute. Deary me.

Burnley have absolutely robbed them when it comes to Muric. Terrible keeper. Walton would be an upgrade.

Did say at the time he left Rovers, I thought he was good player but just didn't work out here for him. Don't think Hirst ever suited JDT's style of play

Ipswich overspend a number of signings for me and I can't believe what they spend on Muric and why they didn't re-sign Hladky instead

To be honest I can understand wanting to upgrade on Hladky as I'm not sure he's PL quality... the problem is that neither is Muric and it was indeed looks like an egregious waste of money. It seems to be a case of relying too much on whatever data model they have. If they'd sent anyone to do some serious scouting on him I can't believe anyone with working eyesight would have recommended signing him.

With that said I don't think they've necessarily wasted the £100m they've spent - if the goal is to yoyo between divisions and come back stronger next time. They've signed some players with potential that could come good for them over time, assuming they keep them if they go down. If the idea was to stay in the PL then their transfer strategy was probably not the right one. Depends on what the wage structure looks like really.

Assuming Palace lose tomorrow against Spurs then somehow despite not winning any matches in their first 9, Ipswich will remain outside the relegation zone, as the three teams below them have also failed to register a single victory thus far. They can't rely on all of the teams below them being this bad for the entire season though.

That Ipswich stat, highlights once again, how unbalanced the premier league is.

Surely you would keep Hladky at the club and battling the new keeper for number 1 spot. No way would I have bought Muric given how he played at Burnley last season

If that's the plan is with one eye on next season and if they go down then will be promotion and title favourite, then its looks clever and well plan.

Good point, but I think Palace, Southampton and Everton(after take over is done and seal) will all change managers shortly.

I don't see Glaser being at Palace much longer if he doesn't pick up results shortly. I also think moving to 4-2-3-1 formation would serve them better with the squad there

Say what you want about Russell Martin but he’s brilliant at making every interview about him.

He doesn't lack self confidence does he?

He doesn’t, and that’s why he’ll continue to fail to learn from his mistakes.

I watched MOTD last night and it was pretty pathetic how Guardiola and the pundits were lavishing praise upon Martin as some kind of visionary. Southampton are bottom and haven't won a match ffs.
