Exiled_Rover Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 They're very clinical. Two counter attacks (Pickering got absolutely roasted for the second one) two goals. We lack size and pace - it's very telling. Quote

ItsRoverZ Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Wow our defending is absolutely dire! 2-0 Girona to easy for them! Quote

Secret lovechild of Colin Hendry and Franz Beckenbauer according to many. Or at least allegedly the best CH we've had in the last 10 years or so. Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 This RW (#16?) has Pickering on toast. 1 Quote
Guest Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Pickering clearly not match-fit. I suppose that's what these games are for. Quote

I presume A Wharton will be 1st choice when fit. Unpopular opinion, I don’t rate Travis and I’ve never really have. He was the weak link alot last season…Not sure why he’s still club captain. duckson Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 1-2 Leonard, Sammy broke the offside trap and layed it on a plate. 4 Quote

Thought it was wonderful movement from Leonard myself - imagine that, a #9 making himself available for a ball played across the 6 yard box. Couldn't be us. 5 Quote

Good movement from them both, although Sammie looked very tight for offside. Leonard does have instinctively good movement, he’s definitely a prospect. Leagues ahead of Vale, for me. 2 Quote

Andy Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 HT thoughts. Scoreline flatters them. Whilst they’ve been clinical, we’ve played some decent enough stuff. Trav started brilliantly, died down after getting wound up. Markanday looks like he’ll be a real bonus this season. Carter looks our best defender. Not sure Dolan is up to it. No actual end product. Nice goal, pleased for Leonard, had a tough half otherwise. Would Gallagher have been in that position? 3 Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Szmodics down injured with a back / glute pull. Lovely stuff. What a cursed football club we are. Quote
Backroom Mike E Posted July 29, 2023 Backroom Posted July 29, 2023 Let’s not forget this is a side that beat Real Madrid in April, they’re no mugs. That 16 looks handy! 4 Quote

Dolan has no pace - good defenders (like at the level above that this lot play at) will know just to stand off him and stand him up as he's not going to be able to run past them. 2 Quote

Tugayisgod Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Good workout against an excellent Girona side. Continually able to beat our press and their two wide men have given JRC and Pickering a tough time. One other thing to take from it so far - Travis doesn't know the meaning of the word friendly Hopefully Sammi will be ok 1 Quote

Why we are desperate for a RW. Markanday is better IMO. Quote
