Quite young really. When we used to go down to the Good Food Show in Birmingham we stayed at the Arden Hotel near the NEC. One morning he was in the breakfast dining room chatting with the chef.

Saw him playing for Birmingham at Ewood when he  was  only16  years old---the best player on the field and won it for them.

Clear then he would be a real star. Anyone else on here see that game?

Boxing Day 1970. Brian Hill scored a cracker which I recall earned a draw. The only memorable thing Hill did in 2 seasons.

He would have been at Forest when they played at Ewood in the big cup tie which was 1980 I think. I don't actually remember him playing in that game though. 

Brilliant night that. Felt like a huge match.

Peter Shilton was often quoted:

Have say the price was irrelevant when his debut in the European Cup was for Forest, in the final, and scored the winning goal.

In a bizarre twist of fate, one of his former players died on the same day at the tender age of 49. He also played for Forest and Owls so a sad day for those clubs. RIP Chris Bart-Williams

yeah, just heard that on the radio. Christ, that's only young - a year older than me! Sounds like it was completely out of the blue as well.

Condolences to both families. RIP Chris & Trevor.
