CambridgeRover Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Hmm is Adam Wharton just not fit?? Surely we need to be playing him. Travis is awful Quote

Ricky Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 No issue with Markanday starting after a decent pre season. It’s reward for his obvious hard work over the last few weeks 1 Quote
AspRover Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 If we aren't signing a ton more players we need Markanday to step up this season, might as well chuck him in and give him a chance. Quote

We need him to come good for us. Wouldn't bank on it. Clearly not fancied and has been poor a long time. Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 If that front three doesn’t scream ‘we need signings’ then I don’t know what does. 7 Quote
BigBar Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Big day for the front 3. Really hope they put in a good showing. Chips are down and best of luck to them 🤙 Quote

OldEwoodBlue Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Literally the only possible fit team we could put out. No surprises. Wharton & Ennis probably get 5 minutes at the end. Quote
WacoRover Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Looking at our lineup & bench, defensively, Rovers should be one of the top 5 in the Championship. Quote

Yeah that's a disgraceful front 3 to start a season with. They're talking 'top 10' on Radio Lancs. No chance at the moment - just no goals in the side. We've really been let down this summer. Sat in the car about to head down to the ground and I have zero enthusiasm for the match / season. 2 Quote
AspRover Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I'm also pretty interested to see what players like Travis, Pickering and Dolan look like after a full JDT pre-season, I think they were all players who struggled to adapt to the change in tactics and setup a bit last season. I think that having a player like Tronstad next to him may help Travis out too if it means he can share the covering of the back line a bit and not be pulled from side to side so much during the game. A lot of movement in attack when JRC gets forward too, Dolan and Markanday can both drift around a fair bit. I'll be honest, I'm expecting a loss here, but hopefully we'll see some good signs for the tactics going forward. 1 Quote
alex l Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Notice Travis is still captain. Doesn't support the fall out talk that's been rumbling over the last few weeks or so. Quote
