I predict it will take approximately 10 minutes of self defeating keep ball around our own box before I go back to hating every other second at Ewood! I take the second paragraph back. Enjoyed that from start to finish. Massive props to Pickering, Leonard, Hyam and Carter. How good did Adam look when he came on. Up the rovers 7 Quote

Leonard looks a lot more promising than Vale. A CF and RW we wouldn't look too bad when all are fit. good call. No one has mentioned Vale. he also has to go 1 Quote
Norbert Rassragr Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Hooray. It's a win, which is good in spite of our owners 1 Quote

Anyway, good 3 points and whilst it probably should have been 4-4 or 5-5 we did enough. Credit to JDT for the changes, clearly changed the impetus of the 2nd half. Once Wharton is fully fit, he’s going to dominate this division. And even though he missed a couple, I loved seeing the runs and instinctive movement of Leonard. If he plays 30 games this season, he’ll score 10-15. Oh and in the interests of fairness, Dolan was better 2nd half. Quote
neophox Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Thought Carter had an superb game with Pickering also very strong all game. 4 Quote
Popular Post cesus Posted August 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2023 Just another game I've watched where I'm so proud of the lads and pray the owners/ people running the day to day give them the help with backing JDT to get help with some numbers into the squad. 12 Quote

Said it time and time again, this league is all about confidence and momentum. Rovers to nick it by the odd goal with Leonard hailed as the all conquering hero. Absolutely feckin delighted tonight. Will be cracking open a couple of fine reds with dinner. Leonard is going to be a big, big player and star. Hopefully, many on here will now know why I was banging on about him last season and wanted to see him start (he could have been the difference..............................). 3 Quote

neophox Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Ball posession 60% rovers... nice to win a game with great ball posession. 5 Quote
Mars Rover Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I thought Travis started last season well and seemed to be running on fumes for the last couple of months. With better rotation (see: strength in depth), I reckon he can keep playing to a higher standard throughout the season. 4 Quote
Cherry Blue Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 At times outstanding. Well satisfied. But where did JDT go at end? 2 Quote

Going to kick on and score 45 goals this year as we win the league by 25 points. Tbf I wasn’t far off, he should have had 3… Thought he played really well overall. Unbelievably, he seemed to have much more physical presence than Gally 5 Quote

Darwen Rover 007 Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Absolutely love the determination and grit of this team... Jdt is key, we have been punching well above our weight ever since he joined! 7 Quote
neophox Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 After Travis game he will surely get interest from Southampton but no need to sell now. 2 Quote
neophox Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Wonder where we would had been with TM as manager now. 2 Quote
rovers11 Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Brilliant win with an understrength team. We have a player on our hands with Leonard. Looks to have all the tools. Travis was absolutely brilliant all game, as were Hyam and Carter. I thought Tronstad did very well and Wharton looked a class above when he came on. I thought Markanday was very poor despite his goal and Dolan was his usual ineffective self. Neither are the answer on a regular basis. 5 Quote
AspRover Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 A very... debut debut from tronstad. Hopefully he can build on it. We've certainly seen worse, remember Ooijer, was it an own goal and a red in his first two? I said before the game we needed to see that Markanday and Leonard needed to show they could make the step up. Can't fault them there! Also said I hoped a full preseason with JDT and playing next to another more defensive mid would help Travis... One of our best players today. Very, very happy! 4 Quote
Crozzy Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Very good today. Really happy to be back. started slow but got going with two quick goals. Very well taken both were. Been wanting Leonard so get a start since I saw him away at Huddersfield last year. Playing again two of the biggest centre halves in the league, kept them on their toes, puts himself about and his movement is class. Tronstad grew into the game in the first half, played some nice balls through the lines in tight spaces. Everyone else was great, we did really well when we made the subs after WBA scored, controlled the game. Leonard also making runs still in 90th+ minute. Good performance and good game Also Pickering had a very good game for me. 2 Quote
philipl Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 What a cracking good game. Love the way Rovers can move it around crisply and all players comfortable on the ball. Some immense performances out there especially Hyam, Carter and Pickering plus Brittain when he came on against a real handful in that West Brom attack. Travis superb, Szmodics got better and better as the game went on. Tronstad - a really tough welcome to Championship football and will get to the pace. Absolutely delighted for Markanday and Leonard. This side will also get much better and we showed we can certainly create goal scoring chances. Leonard knows where to get into the right places. 6 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Delighted for JDT and his team, the players and us, the fans. No better way to start than with a win. All the Rovers players put a great shift in and that graft got us home in good order. All 3 goals although all good finishes had their origin in sloppy play at the back, poor passing by keepers and defenders resulting in loss of possession, fast breaks and goals. Travis was MoM for me and Leonard had an good game, he should have scored at least 2 but will another day. Also Hyam and Szmodics were good. 5 Quote
