By my reckoning, the second goal was 8 seconds after the restart, which makes it the fastest Rovers goal after a kick off I’ve ever seen. Can’t think of one anywhere near as quick.

I've watched this game at the in-laws today. The father in law went to pour the women a drink. He's missed both goals and thought I was taking the piss when he's heard me celebrating so quickly after the first goal 😂

Take your family out to Ewood.

If there’s one thing I don’t struggle on it’s gates. Course I expected a good crowd, I literally said yesterday we’ll have c13k home fans, it was 13,800, a good turnout (like we had last season). We always get an opening day spike.

I hoped we’d have 3/4K for Girona, (my point that you missed as usual, was for Miller and crew not to be disheartened if they didn’t hit their target), we had 5k, *amazed*, I was. 🙄.

All these years on here and you are still crap at wind ups.

No wind ups here Matty.

You've got our fan base wrong in my opinion. If the product is worth supporting the town will turn out, it’s been that way since 1875.

We have great fans, Gav, I’ve never said anything to the contrary.

I totally agree, success increases gates, just like everywhere else. But the point you are missing is that crowds have boomed, regardless of success on the pitch, across English football this past decade, but not here.

Not sure why you don’t seem to be able to join the dots, as you don’t normally have an issue pinning our myriad issues on a certain family.

It does absolutely but I thought Joe had one of his quieter games by his own high standards.

I think he was knocked off his game after that clash with Asanti. When I saw him come off at half time (sit very close to dugout) he looked pretty dazed to be honest. Don’t think he was himself after that incident.

I'm being a bit mischievous of course, we have been shit on from a great height during the past decade, its no surprise our gates aren't booming, but taken in context, they have held up rather well.

Attendance would have been 16740 if I hadn't gone! 😄 Tried the Jack Walker upper for a change. Nearish to the front but still needing the eye of an eagle to see the players.

My thoughts......Dolan was terrible for most of the match. He has absolutely no end product. I could not believe how poor A Wharton was when he came on. He is obviously not match fit. Markanday was ok..ish. Needs more game time. Pears and back 4 were fantastic. Pickering is playing very well. Tron & Trav  solid. Szmodics & Leonard absolutely fabulous. Hedges and Brittain did ok.Have I missed anyone?

Delighted for the win and how we are playing as a team. Please don't leave us JDT.

Well, in that case, @bazza, make it 16,742; because, although paid for on my season ticket, I couldn't occupy my new seat in JWU yesterday. And won't be able to until, hopefully, no later than after the international break early next month.🤞

I think Pickering is our most underrated player, he was very good again. He is such a steady, consistent player who is good on the ball and doesn't often leave his lack of pace exposed.

We had years of the erratic, error prone Bell and I feel far more secure now in that position. Though the lack of cover is a concern.

I always think Pickering is just an average steady 6/10 kind of player , doesn’t do much wrong but does have the odd horror moment in him doesn’t do much more than what he’s supposed to. Today is the best I’ve seen him play, a really solid professional performance. I never for one minute today doubted him. If he plays like that all season we will be fine at the back

What a good game of football that was.  These extended (actual) stoppage ti.es are going to be the death of me if we are up by one.  First half I thought we were 2nd best, West.Brom looked good, sharp, good movement skilled players with beef.  Was still scratching me head how we were 2 up at half time.  What ruthless football, I think we saw a chink and exploited it with almost carbon cooy goals, both good finishes.  Tronstadt, did not know he was olaying for a bit but two lovely forward passes gave me encouragement for future, him and Wharton will gather some assists when the forwards click on which run to make.  We.are.going.to slice open some defences I think so our forwards need to be able to finish.

2nd half I think we were fitter,.we turned it on as they.faded.some very nice exciting football played then.by.us they came back into it some when they introduced fresh legs but we.mamaged the game better.  Pears has learned from his gaff of returning the ball too quickly instead he burned as much time as he dare.  Enjoyed the game despite the stress levels may we have more of, liked Leonard since his first cameo, he seems to have something about him.  Great finish, I'd bet me house Gally does not score there.  Gally is not even in the right spot likely.

I think his improvement went under the radar a bit last season too. JDT has improved him quite a bit IMO, not only his defending but also his distribution. He did the JRC thing yesterday too and came infield to join in the build up play, especially 2nd half.

Reading WBA forums and a few of them were picking upon just how much fitter we were than them.

I've seen very few Rovers teams play with the intensity, and be as hard-working, as this one.

WBA were a big physical side and we were physically (and technically) too much for them 2nd half.

Hopefully, just in time for you to see our new man, Sigurdsson.

I'm looking forward to seeing him myself.

Anybody who can score at The Bernabeu in the Champions League is certainly worthy of playing for this club of ours 😊.

The WBA fans are crying about 3 missed penalty decisions - which I think just highlights how good we were. Begging the (very poor) referee for penalties 'cos you're not creating anything else.

Extended highlights (everyone seems to do this better than us, I can only assume we've got a skeleton media / comms crew). Three absolute bollocks appeals for penalties imo - desperate:
