TugaysMarlboro Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 We look all over the shop at the back. Wharton looks a shadow of his former self. Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 This is why going into the season with S. Wharton and Barnes as your backup CBs isn't viable. 2 Quote

philipl Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Batty badly at fault for the Walsall second. Apparently fortunate not to let in a third. Quote

As some of us have been saying all along. JDT and GB want Batth for a reason. If Hyam gets injured without a proper replacement we're fucked. 3 Quote
ItsRoverZ Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Mates there and I asked for a half time assessment He says he thinks there is a third Wharton brother, Scott's twin who has replaced Scott as he can't be the same player he looks that bad 😂 Barnes ok but will definitely need a loan he said, he won't get much game time here unless it's just cup games. Says ennis looks lively likes to press and works hard, Hedges is impressing, A Wharton pretty quite and not good defensively, Garret OK. Buckley poor, Brittain good same as Batty Quote
Tugay-is-God Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Is that another classic outside of the foot toe poke pass from Wharton opening up their defence for the goal as well? Quote

TBF the comments have been that the keeper didn’t cover himself in glory but also that the back line is all over the place so I don’t think it’s been great all round. 2 Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 2-2 Halftime. Walsall look capable of the upset here tbh. Quote

Backroom Tom Posted August 8, 2023 Backroom Posted August 8, 2023 Someone said Barnes was going to show tonight why we didn’t need a new centre half, how has he looked? Quote

Backroom Mike E Posted August 8, 2023 Backroom Posted August 8, 2023 (edited) Frankly we’re very lucky not to have conceded another two. Batty at fault for their second, Wharton Sr equally not covering that well. Barnes playing pretty well (not brilliant) but being left exposed by Brittain imo Edited August 8, 2023 by Mike E 1 Quote
Polky Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 I wonder if JDT will trust the youngsters to get the job done, or bring on Hyam and company to sure things up? 1 Quote

Before last season he looked a very solid Championship centre back but now he has turned into a liability. 3 Quote

The point is you shouldn't judge the loan. I bet when Raya was turning out for Southport, no-one predicted he would be a Spanish international and a £30m player. 1 Quote
Colt Seavers Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Half time. Good game for the neutral. Walsall happy for us to have the ball in our half. Catching us on the break and they have some nice footballers. When we press we look decent with Brittain and Hedges linking nicely on the right. Buckley looks a shadow of his former self, Adam Wharton similar to Saturday - a mixed bag. Garrett working hard in a Travis type way. Gilsenan looks a handful and Ennis showed nice quick feet for his goal . When fit I see him in the Danny Graham type role. Strong and can hold the ball up. Jack Walker stand looks pretty full. 4 Quote
philipl Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Rovers 72% possession first half. Hedges both assists. Quote
