Travis, Scott Wharton and Gallagher...what kind of fee could we get for r all three and who could we get to come in...think all three are replaceable now..

Not sure what's best with Scott Wharton.

He seems to have gone really off the boil, not sure if it's  confidence thing, a side effect of being rusty from not playing every week or what. Would be really sad to see him go though as there is clearly a player in there. Maybe a short term loan till Jan would benefit him. Need our backup centre halves to be reliable, not sure he would be labelled as such at the minute....

I’m going to rave about Jake Garrett a bit, thought he was excellent and the change from 12 months ago is immense. He was very neat and tidy, very controlled, worked hard, broke forward and got a nice goal.

I felt the same after the Stockport game. From being a raw, tough tackling defensive midfielder he has developed so much to his game. He could be an amazing box to box if he continues to develop.

The goals are up on youtube now.

Thanks.

I followed the game on SSN but missed our first goal.

I found a better version of the first goal which shows the post goal celebration, which confirmed to me that it was indeed a goal, these highlights originate from RoversTV.

The SSN coverage of last night's Cup games was top class, apart from Merson with whom I would need an interpreter to understand. Most of last night's goals shown and a lot of the pen shootouts.

Caught the eye did Gilsenan as did Garret. No spectacle though, despite the score, hundreds of little passes that went nowhere.

Our left flank was exposed so often in the first half and it was the left side in the second half.

We just didn't gel tonight despite scoring 4 goals!

A poor performance first half hour, to many passes going astray.Walsall were up for this one and took full advantage to take the lead. Great to see Ennis and Buckley on the score sheet. We always make things difficult for ourselves these days, cruising at 4-2, I went to the toilet and came back to see the score was 4-3.

That's how I saw it.

We made over 900 passes in the game, I'd wager most of which were triangles in our own half.

Obviously it's great to win and you can only beat what's in front of you etc, but I find our style of play tedious at times.

Game starts 7-45pm. 2nd half starts 9.05pm after 5 mins extra time. Game finishes pretty much on 10pm after 9 minutes of extra time.

Anyone taking half an hour to get home from there, and many would take more, and you're home for 10-30pm.

Its a bit late for mid-week isn't?

I know it wasn't a school week but regular Championship games and possibly FA Cup games will be.

And---suppose they'd equalised and we had penaltiy shoot-out? That's the rule in the League Cup isn't it?

But FA Cup is extra-time and pens isn't it?

Not sure of the rules but I am sure those responsible need to look at earlier kick-offs midweek or attendances will be way down.

I like the new time rules but agree about earlier starts.

Sheff Wed equalised on 90+7 and won the pens. They are quite happy about the clock, at least for now

I wonder what Sky and the other TV providers think, maybe that its beneficial re AD sales but makes scheduling more of a task.

PFA and some managers, usually losing ones, complain whilst ignoring squad sizes and the number of subs allowed.

All the new rules benefit those attending or watching the game on TV

It wasn't a decent turnout, Riverside closed vacant seats in the Blackburn end.

Just go and compare it to others down the years and it's pretty standard.

You'd have to have had your head in the sand the last 20 years to expect anything else for these games.

Riverside has been closed for years for these as well.

Actually a decent bit higher since JDT came in (fans are canny, they know when a manager is arsed about it), 6k for consecutive League Cup first rounds, highest FA Cup 3rd round last season for donkeys years.

Similar or indeed a higher gate than many similar sized clubs last night… yet still folk slag off our support.

It's the same every time before and after these ties on here you'd think the penny had dropped by now.

I guess some rarely attend them and don't take much notice of other gates around the country so it leads to some shock and confusion when they see the small crowd.

agreed, plus away fans needing to get public transport and whatnot will miss the injury time excitement
