Upside Down Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 We're going to smash em. Sammy hat trick. Hyam with a header. Quote
Popular Post ROVER_N_OUT1978 Posted August 14, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 14, 2023 Would love to see the following line up: Wahlstedt Brittain Carter Hyam Pickering Rankin-Costello Travis A. Wharton Hedges Ennis Smodzics 13 Quote
corb691 Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 Wahlstedt won’t start just yet. Britain needs to be play right back and JRC has to play further forward, his runs cause a real problem. Ennis has looked good but I suspect Gally could start. Markandy is too lightweight and Dolan is just not good enough, his decision making hasn’t improved at all over the past two seasons. 1 Quote
Upside Down Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 Can't see the new keeper starting yet. Be good to see Ennis bag one or two. Quote
philipl Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 This Hull side can play a bit so should be a footballing contest. Rosenior will set them up with a game plan to beat us. Will be a good and different sort of challenge after Rotherham. I expect the starting eleven to be more like the team that finished at Rotherham than the one that started. Quote
Ossydave Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 I think its safe to expect goals in this one....Tufan will arrive full of confidence after a hatty at weekend. I didn't even realise they'd signed Aaron Connolly either till watching the highlights at weekend, could be decent for them. I was reading Scott Twine close to signing on loan as well, keep him fit and he's a brilliant Championship player, hopefully not involved at weekend... I fancy us to win 3-2 with a nervy last 20 mins of injury time. Quote
1864roverite Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 A very tough game for Rovers - defence will be tested across the back 4/5. Hull may well be boosted by another big name signing as well Quote

Do I think we actually will go and beat them? No. Do I think they'll beat us? No. I'm gonna predict a bit of a stinker here, 0-0! 2 Quote
joey_big_nose Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 We're playing well at the moment, controlling possession, creating chances and scoring goals. So on the offensive side we are doing pretty well imo. The worry is we are conceding easily on the break. Hard to really make any sort of confident prediction. Could see any of a 2-0 win or 3-2 loss or a 2-2 all draw imo. Quote

Wharton Hedges Ennis Smodzics I mostly agree with this but I think that Travis cant do the central sitting play maker thing. He needs to be box to box. So if he plays JRC cant be in midfield imo as they will both want the same inside right channel. Options would be play Adam Wharton in the central role and Szmodics on the left (bring in Dolan LW) or bring in Buckley to play the play maker role as a straight swap for Travis (my preferred). I guess Tronstad could be used instead of Buckley but Im not sure from seeing him if hes the right guy to dictate the play. Could be but not seen enough yet to know. Wahlstedt Brittain Carter Hyam Pickering Rankin-Costello Buckley A. Wharton Hedges Ennis Smodzics Quote
J*B Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 I’d go totally bonkers at this point because I really don’t rate any of our wingers. Might be a bit too Pep, but what about… Pears (haven’t seen Leo yet) JRC Carter Hyam Pickering Travis Tronstad Wharton Buckley Szmodics Ennis Quote
Tricky Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 wtf is Buckley doing near team's, he's done very little to deserve a start 3 Quote
philipl Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 A side issue but a win on Saturday will not go amiss in helping Rovers look an attractive proposition for any prospective members of the Swag 4. 1 Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 This will be a tough game. Hull under Rosenior have improved a lot. That being said I think we will edge it 2-1. Ennis and A. Wharton to get the goals. My team for this one would be: Pears Brittain Carter Hyam Pickering JRC A. Wharton Szmodics Hedges Leonard Ennis Quote
wilsdenrover Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 I know we won’t but I’d be tempted by three at the back: Pears Carter. Hyam. Wharton Brittain. Tronstad Pickering JRC. Wharton Sammie Ennis Quote

Feed the Yak Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 I'm up to Ewood for this one. I should however, declare my woeful record when going to see Rovers in the flesh. Played 11 won 0. It ends this weekend, surely my curse ends this weekend!?!? 🙏 Taking a Man Utd and a Newcastle fan with me - any recommendations for pubs/bars to go to for their games on TV after? John Bull 3 times for lunch already lined up, of course. 2-1 Rovers, JRC and Ennis Quote
