robfranlong81 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Dolan is so frustrating. He would drive me mad as a manager. Quote
WacoRover Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 This is all I have to keep up today (besides BRFCS comments, thank you all!) Why am I not surprised at Dolan. I won’t say anything else negative, but we seriously need to upgrade his position Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 We are so poor out wide. If we had any quality, we'd be winning this. Leonard struggling too. 2 Quote
1864roverite Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 The football at times is great but we are too soft at critical moments and the final ball is frustrating 😡 1 Quote

It's the first game I've seen Leonard really struggle - link up play is really good, but he's not a goal threat at the moment. I'd love him to get a L1 loan this week if we bring in a proper #9. He needs to play mens football week in, week out. 1 Quote
aletheia Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 2nd bit of good work from Pears What no screaming about the ref? I mean, Trav should have been booked all day long for that challenge on the edge of the box 😉 1 Quote
Bethnal Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Sammy would want to have done a lot better with his chance but it wasn’t gilt-edge. Really don’t like laying into our players but something is up with Dolan. No composure at all and while he’s not usually so, he’s lost the little bit he did have. Has the ongoing contract issue got anything to do with it? Siggy can’t recover soon enough. Wharton looking the player he is: very naturally talented but still raw and prone to lapses. Improves us enormously, though. We’ve created some good opportunities but nothing excellent. The short corner/free kick routines are getting predictable, although the low corner to the edge of the box was a good thought. Even still, switch it up occasionally. Leonard’s got a long afternoon to come, up against to burly and tricky centre backs, but did well to read where the danger would be and nearly turned it in at the far post. With time and improvement on physicality, he’ll profit regularly from those runs. 6/10 half so far. Quote
Backroom DE. Posted August 27, 2023 Backroom Posted August 27, 2023 Dolan's confidence seems to be shot. He's still showing for the ball but nothing is coming off. Can't fault his effort but the quality isn't there and is hindering our attacking play. If only we had some genuine squad depth, instead of having to hope that one of the youngsters or Gallagher out-of-position might improve things. Quote

Wharton is a brilliant prospect but he has not had a great game, far too many missed tackles, players going past him and inaccurate passes. Had this been Dolan the knives would be out! 1 Quote

47er Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Summary—-we’ve shown some great approach work, got ourselves into promising positions but have no physicality upfront. Dolan as ineffective as I’ve ever seen him, Hedges ordinary, Leonard anonymous. Travis flirting with a yellow or worse. Where’s a goal going to come from? 1 Quote
