ben_the_beast Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 This ref is an absolute jokes. Three or four times I've counted Plymouth players swinging elbows when there's no chance of winning the ball. Countless times they've gone through the back of our players. Not seen a reply of the Szmodics penalty claim but in real time I thought it was. Then a couple or minutes later their player stops the ball on the ground with his arm. Just a frustrating half and our performance declined the more the frustration set in. Plymouth have done nothing and very lucky to be ahead. 3 Quote

Trinidad Rover Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Jordan Rhodes scored on his debut for Blackpool. Would have genuinely been a better option than anything we have. 3 Quote

Rothwell would of loved JDT. Pretty football is the modern way but putting it in the onion bag is what matters. Serial misses like Hedges make all the good work pointless. My rebuttal to what comes next is that we've all scored a worldie. Scoring the easy ones is what matters. Edited September 2, 2023 by AllRoverAsia 1 Quote
Bethnal Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Hedges miss was a blow for us, mentally. We began forcing it too much. There’s a lot of good pressing and build-up, but the extent to which we’ve applied this isn’t sustainable and we have looked more vulnerable as the game has gone on. Some poor decision-making from the senior players (Gally and Hedges). Adam Wharton might be struggling with the load and the fact that teams are targeting him. Big lessons to learn for his career, but understandable that he’s challenged by this. JRC is the better RB outlet, but Brittain better than Pickering. Moran has a good brain and an excellent touch. Clearly a young player, learning his trade but has a lot of intelligence and spark. 1 Quote

OsloRover Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Just to throw a positive in there I’m pretty impressed by Moran. Clear upgrade on Dolan. 4 Quote
yankfan Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 The biggest change in the half was when Plymouth realized the ref was not interested in calling any fouls. From that point they’ve bullied our midfield 2 Quote

Andy Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 That early miss from Hedges was incredible. Travis does a lot right, but then his actual technical ability lets him down when it matters. Wharton hasn’t been good today either. And as for the short corners… 3 Quote
Backroom DE. Posted September 2, 2023 Backroom Posted September 2, 2023 Boro losing again, this time at home to QPR. Only been a few matches but it'll looking really bad for Carrick there if they take nothing from today's match. 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Neat and tidy yet as to be expected, rubbish in the final third. Woeful miss by Hedges. Not much to turn to on the bench either. 2 Quote

I know that, but he was unreal at carrying the ball. His change of pace is something we lack. Ball falls with Travis, he has acres of space and may aswell give them the ball back. Quote

You can't rush these things. As many have said, it was a positive transfer window, and why strengthen up front when we have 3 or 4 strikers who can all bag 4 or 5 goals a season. If staying with the same front line as last season, minus BBD, doesn't work, we have the January transfer window to possible recruit a championship quality goalscorer... Quote

tonyoz Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Same story. Plymouth have one guy prepared to take a shot from outside the box and, via 2 deflections we’re one down. We are still trying to walk it into the net. Travis lost possession three times in the first 15 minutes when we were in the midst of impressive attacking moves. He’s not good enough. They had a few dangerous counter attacks too where they cut through us too easy. It’s not over though. Quote
ItsRoverZ Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Dom hyam off!? Injury? Already bloody streched then Quote

We brought in a 4th division German player - we clearly has £0. 1 Quote
