JHRover
Steve's £125k pay rise through to £433k a year needs funding somehow. Just remember when we are waving off our core playing assets as their contracts run down that this charlatan is taking this much out of the club every year.

Perhaps, he is saving up, to pay Andy Cole back.
superniko
Just the +38% YoY increase there. Looks like Waggott has jumped from £309k + £12k pension contribution to £433k + £159k pension contribution. Edited March 4 by superniko

No wonder that he thinks the owners are wonderful humble people, who never fail to sign a cheque. Where would we be without them?

Thats probably half of the BBE season ticket sales gone straight to Waggotts pocket!
Tugayisgod
Don't worry. I'm sure the £10m + we get when Wharton inevitably moves on will all be reinvested in the team as always ! 😡😡

Hence the talk from Ismael about bringing through youth players. Reverting back to that model as Wharton's sale basically kept the club alive.
Popular Post JHRover
And once again with Waggott's statement in the accounts we see why he should be nowhere near a club of this size - he considers routine maintenance - like cleaning parts of Ewood and repairing crumbling concrete - as noteworthy jobs requiring reference in public - just like he did the other year when he boasted about the new bus and laying of a new pitch. These are not improvements or significant expenditures - they are essential maintenance steps that are par for the course at a large, professional football club with a 30,000 capacity stadium Non-league clubs have to lay a pitch, repair crumbling concrete and clean the roofs - it isn't impressive that this is done at Ewood and it should be done each and every year not once a decade. Impressive noteworthy expenditure would be new floodlights, new sound system, a new Riverside stand, a Desso pitch, a new jumbo screen, real improvements that go above and beyond the bare minimum. These are things that are done at most other Football League grounds at some stage or another, but not under this regime at Ewood. They expect credit and gratitude for repairing and maintaining their own facilities.

Another thing that sums up how bad it is - the advertising boards around the ground - along the top of the Riverside and the front of the JW stand there are dozens of Venkys ad boards - and they are all absolutely filthy or faded. They've been there now for years and have just worn away. It's a pretty poor do when the club can't even be arsed to ensure the owners' boards are replaced and look decent. The ones on the JW lower look a right mess on TV and visiting clubs/dignitaries will be looking at the ones on the Riverside all match covered in grime. The signage on the BBE - the display for the Ronnie Clayton BBE - looked smart when it was first done over a decade ago - but inevitably it is now starting to wear away - there are bits missing and falling off. Just a mess.

Just a mess. These caught my attention when I was at the Norwich game the other day, they look like they have actual shit on them - embarrassing. The transparent panels on the roof of the Blackburn End also looked very murky from where I was sat... doesn't look like these have been cleaned recently. Director pay up 84% - for selling off our key assets, running off two managers and generally running a circus. Good stuff.

JHRover
Save us money and you'll get a cut of the savings. I suspect that is the basic premise the stooges are working to down there. Promotion doesn't feature in that quest. Just keep it ticking over and reduce reduce reduce. The Eustace compensation cash and next instalment for Adam Wharton are coming soon, then maybe a cut of a further sale if he leaves Palace. Another bonus/pay rise next year would do very nicely indeed. Soon, if not already, be top earner at the club.
roversfan99
Just seen a regurgitated Alan Nixon article on twitter about the accounts who puts the profit down to the first chunk of the Wharton sale and selling Szmodics. Surely that shows a total lack of understanding regarding accounting treatment. The (pure) profit on Wharton will 100% go into the accounts on an accrual basis, timing of payments is irrelevant. And Szmodics was sold after the accounting year. Also, is there a chance that the highest paid director is Suhail?
