The difference is we used to be in the Premier League - so it required a talent at the level of Taylor / Dunn / Duff et al to make a mark. The bar to getting into our First Team squad used to be much higher. Hmm..You could almost think it was deliberate plan to relegate us to the second tier, so that the academy could make up half the first team.. Quote

I think the recent signings have put that one to bed, for now, however i personally reckon a few inside Ewood would go down that road if they could. Quote

simongarnerisgod Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 Just now, Leonard Venkhater said: Do you think the recent signings actually signal a desire to get the club back to the premier league? no,venkys have no intention of ever getting us promoted, past seasons have illustrated that, build a decent side, threaten the top six then get your budget cut and prospective signings mysteriously curtailed by "i.t mishaps" 4 Quote

They can't hide from the truth so having it all there in black and white is a good resource I reckon. Still more to put in there but I've got the bulk down. When completed, given that he is now communicating, it needs putting in front of Pasha, for his comments. 1 Quote

My belief is Waggott is leaving this season, retiring with a extremely good pension (clubs contribution is mental). So model is clear , which he is driving. Spend as little as possible, (these 1 year deals ain't his problem when he rides off).keep supporter base quiet, as next seasons mess will see the chickens come home to roost. Suhail, similar on a kings ransom , zero pressure here or in india to do anything bar ensure lights stay on. This is representative of a coaching model, where the manager coaches what he is given with no clear targets for achievement. Remember since these two been running the show, they ain't sacked a manager, both have resigned!!! End of season a new smuck arrives and repeat repeat. The protests in the stands last season nearly saw Waggott depart, he openly stated to me maybe its time to go home. Whoever persuaded him to stay I don't know, as he was beaten. It won't take much to push both these out and at that point I think the for sale sign goes up. Edited August 4, 2024 by glen9mullan 26 Quote
Mattyblue Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 (edited) To be fair under these owners only one manager (Coyle) has been sacked since 2015 and that was far too late. Edited August 5, 2024 by Mattyblue 2 Quote
tomphil Posted August 5, 2024 Author Posted August 5, 2024 I do see some of the problems under Waggot as an inability and lack of desire to manage upwards. How much that has played a part is hard to tell given what he works under and the shadow man will no doubt remain so the next one in will just have to keep the lights on as well. Waggot has had the luxury of working under an ownership under writing whatever losses every season yet he has still squeezed the club as much as possible however the next one in will not have that luxury. Hate to say it but it's likely to be worse. 1 Quote
Rogerb Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Is it coincidence Suhail agrees to meet WATR two weeks before the court date? 2 Quote

Popular Post Crimpshrine Posted August 12, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 12, 2024 Thursday is Independence Day in India - celebrating the end of British rule. I am hoping Rovers soon see the end of Indian rule. Fingers crossed. 14 Quote

philipl Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 With the Szmodics sale and the new EPL Sky deal, administration is now two years away at the earliest. Either 10m is committed in new player wages, transfer fees and loan fees in the coming two weeks or the signal has come from Pune that funding for Rovers is at an end irrespective of what Waggott and co say. So would we prefer Rovers making a reasonable splash in the transfer market or confirmation Venky's have had enough? Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 You know what's coming...'postponed till March 2025' AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!😠 Quote
JHRover Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 I suspect that with another £15 million landing from Raya and Szmodics this will negate the need for Venkys to send money from India. Convenient, and will enable them to kick the can down the road on the court proceedings hoping that by the time this money runs out there is someone else to sell. 3 Quote

So I'd prefer Venkys to go. 3 Quote

Exactly - Even if the Courts don't give permission to send funds without associated bonds, they don't need to worry. The club can 'wash it's own face'. In the future, when cash runs short, if there is nobody else to sell they will just resume drip feeding us into oblivion. 1 Quote
