From Jackson's LT article:

Sean Kimberley remains at the club as Head of Recruitment. Chief Executive Steve Waggott has previously taken on a hands-on role in negotiating player deals too.

This really scares me.  Whilst I think Broughton had shortcomings in his abilities, I didn't see anything that would lead me to question his integrity, however, I simply have no trust at all in Waggott, not least following the Brockhall debacle.

Aye, the last thing we need is that charlatan anywhere near transfer dealings beyond what I assume is his obligation to sign them off. Between the tale of how he stole a young Andy Cole's signing on fee when he was an agent, and all the other sleazy bullshit that oozes out of his snake-like pores every time an utterance emerges from his duplicitous mush to befoul our ears, I'm practically certain this results in illicit payments being siphoned into his back pocket.

'Market open' - but, it isn't? Don't get me wrong, we should get it sorted sooner rather than later as planning needs to begin, but the window doesn't open until 14th June.

You can still sign players though, as we did with Ennis in May last year.

I wonder if they want GB's replacement done and dusted before they announce GB has left and we have appoint this guy. Depends whether this DoF is in work or not Wouldn't surprised me if it was Graig Gardner from Birmingham as he has worked with Eustace before.

Officially but you can still look to sign players, speak to agents, line deals up and move quickly in the market. For example, lets say we want Ruddy as a signing, we can be offering him a contract and get a medical done now

If the object of the exercise is to make enough money from players sales to just “keep the lights on “ -  the plan has worked to “ perfection “. As far as I know, ‘ the lights are still on “.

However, if the object of the exercise is to have a successful football team -  just look at the league table.

No, it's the lights on thing. Also the amount of light required is subject to change, if people just put the torch on their phone on that will do.

swag moving out all the old jdt connections and bringing in his own little clique,i,e anyone who will agree with him and not speak out about the lack of budget,i don`t particularly like eustace but feel sorry for him that he`ll be in a relegation battle with the same players, minus his best player sammie,of course i might be wrong and eustace gets a good budget,i somehow doubt it tbh😬

Well at least we are on the same thinking as what might happen

Eustace will know that and be comfortable with it he can play his dour negative style 8 out of 10 games and it'll be justified if we are scraping enough points to stay clear.

A no brainer for him he won't get sacked no matter how bad it gets and doing ok with nothing at a going backwards outfit will get him a move elsewhere.

His play against the fans giving him shit.   Get rid of any enemy within and hunker down surrounded by brown nosing yes men . Time to step the pressure up, we are getting to the fat twat.

That's the last thing we need. We already had Mowbray the unsackable since he was working with his best bud Waggott. All these mates working together just creates a cosy club with no accountability and standards drop.

I'm not sure why I bother though as Waggot clearly has the club in a stranglehold again already.

If that's right person with the right contacts, scouting plan, etc then fine. It was only a suggestion/guess. If he can bring in the right signings then great fir us

Apologies if already mentioned (it probably has been), but I remember being told that the great thing about the DoF system was that it put continuity in place, so that even if the manager has been fired, the long-term vision remains the same. I kinda thought that would last more than 3 and a half months after the manager left. And only 2 years for that DoF in total (most of it with his hands tied behind his back). More bullshit as usual.

Agreed, but I think we all knew it would be another five minute wonder before another goon was hired. All having a DOF under shambolic and chaotic owners achieves is to waste more money and create more chaos.

Why haven't the club announced Broughton's departure?

Mr Nixon, (“Burn the witch”), says he thinks our target might be under contract elsewhere.

I was beginning to wonder if the plan was to pretend Broughton was still in post until after the court case in August, and then appoint his replacement after the season has started.

Wouldn’t put it past this Lot.
