The 7th club to have reached this incredible milestone, but thanks to the poor marketing we see from Rovers these days, have we missed a trick here to celebrate this achievement?

It only appeared on Rovers twitter earlier this week which indicates to me that it almost fell through the cracks at Ewood and perhaps a third party brought it to their attention. It's another rush job, get a few players to say a few words and roll out some old players. And Rick Parry is making a presentation presumably to Waggott (the man I just don't see representative of our proud club) at half time. It would be right and fitting if Waggott was roundly needed from the stands.

Present it to Waggot in front of the Blackburn end.

Inconvenient for the 'natural level is mid 2nd division because that's where we were in the 80s' brigade.

Great milestone to reach 5000 league games, done well to get many ex players ( legends) to  say a few words, regardless of our ups and downs ex players really did enjoy themselves at Rovers.

Exactly this.

As the stats show, we’ve spent - by far - the majority of our time in the top tier.

Great to see so many former players commentated on it. Some of my all time favourite players are in there like Alan Shearer, Mark Atkins and Craig Conway,

I figured it would be them.

The fact we've spent the MAJORITY of our time in the top division where there were fewer teams has put us in 7th place.

Notts County will be next later this season

Why are Everton, Villa and Stoke not in there? Does the 5000 not include any Premier League games? Silly statistic if so.

It does include Premier League. Everton and Villa have spent more years in the top flight with fewer fixtures per season. In the early days, Stoke had two spells out of the league including 7 years just before the First World War

Thanks for that info., Wikirenrag. 😃 I'm sure others are grateful for that information as well.
