One of my favourites.

My wife has a habit of listening to RTE.

A few years ago, they were saying how they couldn't trace Eamonn for a reunion of players, who had represented Republic of Ireland.

His name is Eamonn Rogers,

He was the king of our land,

His hair hung over his shoulders,

Tied up with a blue and white band.

One of my neighbours, Jack Airey, couldn't become a first team Regular in the late 1950s because of the presence of the likes of Duggie, Peter Dobing and Noddy McLeod; and it was 7 or 8 years before the Football League allowed teams to play even one substitute.

As a result of that, he only played a handful of games for the first team in the 1958/59 season; the first one back in Division One. He made his debut early in March 1959 in a 4-1 League drubbing of Burnley at Ewood and scored the third goal.
