Why the **** are we loaning a 21 year old defender. It's the most pointless transfer decision ever. We have Hyam, Wharton, McFadzean, O'Riordan and then Gamble as our own youngster (that's without even accounting for the injured Carter).

We do not need a 21 year old loaned defender. I'd barely accept it if we were paying £0 fee and £0 wages each week, as it's a waste of a loan spot.

Totally agree no sense in this at all

If we do get him I hope that I’m proved wrong, but from his highlights(?) YouTube  reel I thought he looked like a league 2 or lower bruiser who just bulldozed his way to goal pushing aside useless defenders. His shots are hit and hope and he usually ends up on his arse.

I would agree with this assessment of McGuire having seen his Youtube goal/"skills" video. It is distinctly underwhelming and I would think that a similar video of Gally's highlights would look far more impressive - and we know how generally ineffective he is. If he comes on loan it's a blessing and we all know Venkys won't make the transfer permanent in any event.

Wonder what happened to Ethan Brierley since the shambles with him (often forgotten about amongst the O'Brien mess).

He's a year older than Adam Wharton, doesn't look to have gone on loan at all from Brentford.

He was on the subs bench last night v Spurs.

Not sure if he came on.

He is on the bench most games for them, but hasn't played a minute in the Prem

Nathan Jones called the Ennis stoke deal earlier. As well as the McGuire deal falling thru. Got loads of crap for it as well. Not liked by many but he's got a few right

He also said he’d been loaned out earlier and that McGuire was in England yesterday morning

Maybe he knows a little but he talks a lot of shit

So

£18m in

plus

Loan that won't be made permanent

Loan we don't need

Possible further loan

and Ennis possibly out

And Bayes is trying to dress it up as something impressive

We'll probably end up with just Billy nobody, who we do not need, and fail to get the rest over the line. This really smacks of the league one relegation season again, but at least we had Graham and Mulgrew then. We can't even point to people of similar ilk now.

However shit and injury prone he seems to be, it's a massive risk to loan him to a relegation rival. Maybe they rate him that little...

It's another wage off the books. Tick for Swaggot.

If it's a loan with option to buy then it still ties in with the info that we have zero money to spend on permanent fees. For whatever reason it's alright to spend £500k on a loan fee for four months though 🤷‍♂️ if we assume the ITK tidbits to be more or less accurate then we basically cancelled the permanent deal last night, renegotiated this morning for a loan-to-buy which Orlando accepted on the basis £500k over 4 months is a decent enough deal, and if we make it permanent (we won't, but if) then they get more than they would have initially. One would surmise from this that they are quite desperate to get McGuire off their books to do other business, otherwise they would have just said "lol, no thanks" and if no better offer was forthcoming asked him to return.

Someone saying it's not a loan but a proper signing. Does that mean we're looking at bringing in another striker?

We've missed an opportunity there, I feel. He was one of the better loan signings we were linked with. Though not sure whether that was just paper talk or not.

Ideally, we should have been asking about this lad and Rak-Sakyi when dealing with Palace for Wharton. Either one would have been fine as they both bring something that we don't have in the wide areas.

Instead of pissing about with young defenders, we need to find some pace out wide.
