harryhealless1928 Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Yes its always the more expensive deals that fail to materialise. First OBrien and now McGuire. Not only weakening the squad but so embarrassing no one will want to do business with us anymore. Sounds like JDT has pointed out where the problem is (with his comments). 6 Quote

G Somerset Rover Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 (edited) Dunc probably took one look today at us and is praying that lightning has struck twice so he can get on the first plane out of here. Edited February 3, 2024 by G Somerset Rover 1 Quote
Gamst Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Im just really struggling to fathom how they could have got it wrong again? I suppose if you don't sack the responsible parties due to a complete lack of interest in events at Ewood park then you can't be surprised when it happens again? Surely you triple and quadruple check every last detail after what happened last year? Its just inconceivable that this could have happened again! Im still reeling from the O'Brien debacle and joked on the transfer thread on deadline day about the flashbacks I was having. Its just outrageous. How are these people still in handsomely paid jobs? 1 Quote

Zero accountability at Ewood. Remember when Derek Shaw "went rogue" (Venky's own words), costing us millions in Berg's payoff, and then proceeded to stay employed for years afterwards? 3 Quote

It has all the hallmarks of owners who don't care. Every decision seems to take aeons. Theres just no accountability and indecision at every turn. We are just completely paralysed by incompetence. If the owners had a vague interest they would sack all the board and JDT tonight. We clearly need a completely fresh start but this will just drag on for weeks like it did with Kean and Shaw and the outcome will likely be relegation and the shrinking of our club and its reputation. I'm grateful to JDT for shining a torch on the chaos and subterfuge behind the scenes but the toxicity is spilling over onto the pitch and any board worth its salt would act decisively. Quote

Andy Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Who is doing the transfer paperwork, the Work Experience kid? Once is embarrassing. Twice is criminally negligent (if true, etc). 5 Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Strange how Ian Silvester who has been involved in correctly registering players here for years has all of a sudden forgotten how to do the paperwork. Presuming Waggot is involved in all transfers at previous clubs, he has presided over in excess of 100 transfers in his time as CEO at different clubs. How many of them were subject to appeal previously……… 7 Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 For this to happen twice surely warrants the EFL (or someone) to investigate the club. This is so amateurish and embarrassing. This next week is going to make for extremely grim viewing. 9 Quote
Popular Post jwlrovers Posted February 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 3, 2024 Am I being too cynical to think that this wasn't a mistake at all, but in fact intentional? 17 Quote
Backroom DE. Posted February 3, 2024 Backroom Posted February 3, 2024 Heads should have rolled after last January's embarrassment, but they didn't. If the McGuire transfer goes the same way we'll get some mealy mouthed excuse, probably a sob story about the EFL being overly stringent, and everyone moves on. With the exception of JDT, who may well just say fuck it and leave. I just hope McGuire can head back to the States and continue on as normal until the summer. Not fair on the kid at all. Must be wishing he'd signed with Wednesday instead. 2 Quote

matt83 Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 If it’s true that the rovers fuckwits have messed up on the bloody paperwork again and on the back of everything else I think I’m done with them 1 Quote

Popular Post TugaysMarlboro Posted February 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 3, 2024 (edited) I seem to remember post last January's debacle, when GB came out and faced the music, he specifically said that the process re: paperwork submission had been reviewed and measures put in place to ensure that it wouldn't happen again. It's really difficult to know how much he is to blame individually for this cock up (if at all), it's clear however that not all the senior team are singing from the same hymn sheet. I've worked and arguably still work in an environment very similar and sadly, no-one wins. Broughton will not want this debacle on his CV, it serves him no favours for his future in football, which for all intents and purposes had gone quite well prior to him rocking up at Ewood. On the other hand Waggott is extremely unlikely to have/want or need another job in the sport, whilst Suhail is a Venkys stooge who will get repurposed at one of their other 'business ventures' (like a lot of the useless lot do), have they purposely ballsed up to keep the shareholders sweet and top up their pension/ensure job safety in the future? (delete as appropriate). Or do Venkys want to portray optics of doing the right thing, whilst in the background preventing any and all investments long term? Are the two even mutually exclusive? Any new owners would see right through Waggott, likely point and laugh at Suhail's management abilities and no doubt waltz Sylvester out the door within the first fortnight. The problems start and fucking end with Venkys and anyone they've directly employed. As a side note if Alan Nixon is reading this, your relative defence of Venkys on twitter this evening can get to fuck, you big fat Thistley bellend. Edited February 3, 2024 by TugaysMarlboro 17 Quote
