What's the odds on a JDT out and sympathy for Venkys February nth at Ewood once we've sold Wharton, Gally and loaned Travis but narrowly missed out on replacing them with quality players by the nasty rule keepers at the FA and the Indian courts system

Some think that JDT has "sold" all the players that have gone out and been responsible for all the signings, so this wouldn't surprise me.

I saw a bloke dissing him for signing Telalovic last week, saying this is the only type of player he can attract.

He's only been round the 1st team less than18 months. To be a millionaire post tax he'd have to earn over 2m and not spend a penny of it which over 18 months is 25k a week which he's most definitely not on.

Don't forget signing fees (new contracts) and bonuses.

His most recent contract would have come with a very chunky signing-on fee.

10% signing on fee of a million pound contract is nice obviously but doesn't cement the millionaire bracket.

He's a kid whose spent his life at Blackburn Rovers and only into his first pro contract so there is no way he's a millionaire just yet off the back of that.

He will be with the next one he signs though, wherever it is.

It's clear that many people can't distinguish between a manager and a head coach, and see JDT as the former.

At the same time I'm pretty sure GB is on record as saying JDT approves all signings. It's also clear he speaks to the potential signing before the transfer goes through.

True but if you're given the option of someone who might be rubbish, or nobody at all, you kind of have to take a punt.

Yeah there was no way Jon wanted Semir, but when presented with him or nobody in the last few hours of the window you might aswell take him and see if you can do anything with him.

27th January. The Venkyworld dream transfer window ticking along nicely, with Adam Wharton and Sam Gallagher still on track to be sold on deadline day and plenty of fans remaining excited to see the replacements- two 14 year olds on loan from Brighton. Good times.

Wharton is the club's golden goose.  If we are truly a 'trading club' to generate transfer fees, we are about to make a £20 million profit.

If the sale of Wharton means the club actually implement the 'Brentford' model and half the fee pays for 3 or 4 very promising signings (that we actually own) - I imagine everyone would be happy.

It won't though will it?   It will just cover losses that Venky are unable to transfer over.  We'll  have a token 10 percent (including wages) to spend.

After Wharton, there isn't much else worth buying - certainly none that premier league money would be interested in.

The Wharton transfer is the only way the club bankroll their  purported 'vision'.

From a fan perspective, he shouldn't be sold unless they are going to do that.

They aren't though.

Have we had the Raya money yet ?

Not as far as anyone knows. We will know more probably if any money is spent before Thursdays deadline.

My opinion is we keep Wharton this window, muddle on this season as best we can,  sell in the Summer when there will probably be more suitors which could create a bidding war.

That plus the Raya money should see nearly £30m in the coffers. Not naive enough to know we would only see a slice of that but still would be a decent war chest after recent seasons

Surely the first clue will be when Arsenal confirm they’ve signed him permanently?

Still more likely to be the summer given the presumed reason (FFP)  for the initial loan.

I think we should have a BRFCs swear jar where anybody who says the word warchest has to put a pound in and all the money can go to keeping the Blackburn end open for next years carabao cup tie 😂

We could just make it an actual swear jar - although Abbey and Upside Down might disagree 😁

Watching the highlights from Plymouths games last year...if our scouts thought Ennis was the better of Ennis/Whittaker last season that's madness....they got it wrong and now JDT wants him out after half a season...I think he's fuming... Surely JDT wanted Whittaker but got Ennis...

They got Ennis because he was FREE not because they thought he was better.
