It’s likely. But he’ll get 6 months with them, then they either stay or Palace have £100m to buy some more juice to play around him. 

Add the £50k(?) a week or whatever the going rate is these days and it’s a cracking move for him. Just a shame as there is no reason Rovers shouldn’t be in the capable position that Palace are in now.

Whilst the lad is obviously hugely naturally gifted and has all the potential to be an elite player I’m not quite as high on the current A Wharton as most.

I do attribute this to not seeing him in the flesh as much and for all his natural ability to pick a pass there’s been a slight tendency to play us into trouble at times but once that is coached out of him he’ll likely be a superstar.

However potential is never guaranteed to be fulfilled, a few years ago Bradley Dack was weeks away from the premier league and injury ended it all.

I don’t think there’s a way we could afford to risk not taking that kind of offer now.

Wish the lad nothing but the best but with the football pyramid being as it is and us being where we are this sadly seems best case scenario for us, unearth and polish gems and profit and repeat, only one way to break the cycle!

People do care, but he’s also signed Szmodics, Tronstad, Hyam, Brittain (and imo O’Riordan is a class signing).

Plus he’s largely tying players down to contracts that get us fees now.

Every club makes bad signings! The likelihood just increases when you are shopping in the bargain basement like we have to! I’d counter the bad signings to say that on a limited budget 4/5 of our strongest 11 are all Broughton signings in hyam, tronstad, Sammie, siggurdson and possibly brittain

It’s only the ‘best case scenario’, ‘the model’ if a decent percentage of this is put back in the team. Then yes, you use it to strengthen in key areas and actually could end up a stronger overall side. The Model in action.

However, I would say receiving this cash now, in the midst of overseas authorities blocking funds being sent to the club, so ergo no liquidity, is the ‘worst case scenario’ as it’s bills that will be the things being paid with this bonus windfall.

I would not slagging off Wahlstedt yet...he's young for being a keeper and was thrown in early when he arrived and has made some fantastic saves ...he s not good in the air and his punching...needs proper training and hopefully he can compete next season.

Statistically there'll be a lot more poor signings when you're shopping in the bargain basement @RevidgeBlue. 

Wahlstedt is our biggest miss so far. Telalovic was a way down on the shortlist and a last-minute emergency signing. Still can't rule either out, but looking like we have the German Grabbi on our hands.
