No of course not

It's the risk we play when we or anyone loans players

Bournemouth need him back because they are short.

Shame Liverpool didn't take Morton back last January!!

There's no 'of course' to it really it could very well be relevant.

They come over for a finance meeting and are presented with a potential long term development signing by the DoF.  So they simply say yes but you'll have to move one out first it's strictly one out one in.

Easiest thing to do by far is send back the loan costing the biggest contribution whose club have the recall option and say they'd have him back without fuss.

Have to laugh at folk suggesting experienced keepers on loan or whatever,

Remember we're not in the results business here, they spent 800K on Leo, he will be our keeper for a good while yet, learning on the job hoping that he improves so they can make a bit of a profit on him later.

Nobody above JDT gives a damn that he is costing us a goal or 2 a game. All about development.

They won’t develop much in league 1!!

I can't see how its fair enough really - we're swapping a player with Premier League experience that covers CB and RB for a League Two centre back that only plays CB.

Yeah I see your point.

I was saying it because it was 1 CB out and 1 CB in, which is about the most we can expect under this shower.

Yeah, but history tells us we don’t even do that though.

We brought in Szmodics, Hyam, and Brittain the previous summer. They were all experienced players and are 3 key players for us now.

Might not be a popular option for some but Burnley have a surplus of attacking wide players, Both Benson and Zaroury have been unable to make the bench recently. The pair have been mentioned as possible loans to Hull and Southampton could we not tempt one to come to Ewood.

The most frustrating thing is the excuses. They are the same year in year out. No money, no budget, too young a team, too many games, too many injuries, etc. It needs to stop from off the field / management. How can teams like Luton, Huddersfield, Nott F, Millwall, Barnsley, etc make it to playoffs (and more). The lack of ruthlessness in our management / desire to win / nastiness (because they can't be sacked) has trickled down into the first team...

Ah yeah sorry mate didn't mean to sound dismissive!

Yeh I see the link but honestly I think this is just Bournemouth needing Hill back from what I've read. Time will tell, but he played 18 championship games so he has got experience and he is looking ready for their first team whether that's in prem or back in champs. They can see our defence worries and probably don't want to risk him being injured too. We have a thread bare squad so he probably would be playing the next 18 games. I think they are protecting their asset.

They could repay the loans from the banks if they've got a couple of hundred million sitting around but if they do then why did they take out loans in the first place. It's a mistake to assume that even "billionaires" have a cache of liquid assets.

It wouldn't take a couple of hundred million to repay the bank loans. The vast majority of the 'debt' is owed to Venkys, which they could write off if they wanted. The money owed to the Bank of India is a different matter altogether but fortunately this is a very small percentage of the total.

If you mean yesterday's match the first goal was all down to the goalkeeper

The second was an excellent cross and headed goal - sometime you have to give credit

As soon as that ball in left his foot I said great ball, we were right behind it. It was, as you say, an excellent ball in.

Need a goalkeeper before anything. With a half decent one, we'd probably have 5 or 6 more points on the board.

Pears is back very shortly

I would suggested defending properly, mark our opposition players better and putting the ball into the box would be better suggestion plus appoint Mike Sheron as set piece coach or someone

Is there no loanee keeper we could grab from the premier league. Guarantee the starter position to

How are we afford their wages?

Was thinking this, maybe Mark Travers, Fraser Forster or Ethan Horvath could be tempted for 6 months - they aren't playing much atm.

Travers is number 2 at Bournemouth and was recalled by them cos they were short on keeper.

How are we afford their wages plus strengthening in other areas like full back, right winger, etc?

We have been linked Leeds's Charlie Cresswell who isn't in Farke plans by the looks of it

Paul Mani talking negatively. All we need now is Chaddy to join in and then the end really will be nigh.

Negatively?

I have posted about the lack of commercial ouns at the club, Waggott getting his ST prices wrong, Commented on yesterday poor defending and not taking out chances.

You not fancy it, Chadster?

And he'd be so far behind A. Wharton and Szmodics that he'd just be at the awards ceremony for a jolly.

Not sure Wharton would be up with Sammy for me, I feel like he has been out best player by a country mile. After that it's a close one with Wharton and Tronstadt.

Still opinions are like arseholes in that everyone has one.

Could just sign our own players rather than rely on loans every year?

Every Championship clubs loans players even Southampton, Ipswich and Leeds have this season.

I don't see the problem signing few loans players who add quality to your squad. We only signed 2 loan players in the summer which must be lower figure for years

On loan, yes. So that would be Hill out, Cresswell in on loan, O'Roirdon in permanently.

There isn't a problem with it if done in moderation to supplement and bolster your squad.

When it is the cornerstone of your recruitment it is a problem.

Anyway, you said there was 'nothing Rovers can do' about Bournemouth recalling him. Whilst that might be correct if we'd have signed our own CB to replace the outgoing Ayala then we wouldn't need to worry about such things.
