"With Tom Bogert confirming that the loan fee is worth $700,000 with a purchase option of around $7 million, plus $2.5 million in add-ons"

Equivalent to roughly 550k, and then £5.5m + another £2m, madness

Never in a million years paying that

What about those who would like to “view it on a granular level and get into more of the minutiae” but cannot be arsed sifting through the repetitive, factually incorrect and cathartic bellyaching?

I think WhatsApp groups might be what you are looking for…

So far this season we've converted a very low % of the chances we have created so I feel exactly as you do.

“Finishing games with 10 men” odds ?

Back to the days when we regularly received fines for our poor dicipline 😄

You know what's going to happen with Mcguire don't you either

1. Total flop

2. Scores 15+ between now and the end of the season but venkys refuse to release the funds to take up the option to buy.

Looking forward to Greggs interview regarding the transfer window and the plans for the summer.

We were making bids for permanent signings the day before deadline before the plug was pulled and only people until the end of the season could be brought in.

Nobody at the club will know what the plan is going forward after the end of the season so absolutely pointless Broughton discussing plans for the summer window.

As frustrating as the current cost cutting/ asset stripping situation is, which for me entirely falls at the door of Waggott and the owners, I think GB deserves credit. Time will tell, but this side looks far more adept at dealing with Championship games than the teams we were stringing together in December. Fleck and McFadzean are experienced pro’s who have played 100’s of games at this level and the Rotherham/Preston type results simply would not have happened with them around. Adam Wharton is a top talent who will be sorely missed and we will see the difference without him, but let’s be honest, as soon as serious money was on the table he was going.

Best of luck to all the new signings, particularly to McGuire who has had a difficult start to life over here.

This team on Saturday has more than enough to win the game.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but I think this transfer window, and the current mood at the club draws pretty strong parallels to the Lambert era, obviously approaching the Coyle farce.

That season we'd sold Cairney and Gestede, followed by Rhodes in the January window - total sum £20 - £25m.  We'd signed the following;

Doneil Henry https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/379_1464675286.png?lm=1464675287 West Ham loan transfer
Simeon Jackson https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/349.png?lm=1574162298 Barnsley FC free transfer
Danny Graham https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/289.png?lm=1485645633 Sunderland loan transfer
Elliott Ward https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/989.png?lm=1457991811 Bournemouth free transfer
Tony Watt https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/358.png?lm=1448178743 Charlton loan transfer
Hope Akpan https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/1032.png?lm=1457723329 Reading free transfer
Tom Lawrence https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/1003.png?lm=1472229265 Leicester loan transfer
Fodé Koita https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/1162_1465134668.png?lm=1465134668 SM Caen free transfer
Nathan Delfouneso https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/1181.png?lm=1407655321 Blackpool free transfer
Danny Guthrie https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/1032.png?lm=1457723329 Reading free transfer
Elliott Bennett https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/1123_1658217232.png?lm=1658217233 Norwich ?
Jordi Gómez https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/289.png?lm=1485645633 Sunderland loan transfer
Matt Grimes https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/2288_1658400144.png?lm=1658400145 Swansea loan transfer
Modou Barrow https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/wappen/tiny/2288_1658400144.png?lm=1658400145 Swansea loan transfer

 £0.00 spent.

This season, £25m brought in with Kami, Phillips and Wharton gone.  A chipping away, obvious decline of the squad with assets being flogged to stop the ship from sinking.  The only slight difference this time is that one of our prized assets (BBD) walked away for sweet FA.  They're being replaced by short-sighted, no strategy loans and freebie has-beens.

JDT, just like Lambert will be disillusioned, sold a cock and bull story that the club has serious aspirations.

No surprise when he jumps ship this summer and we're left scrabbling around looking for a manager who will take a chance on this complete circus.

Impressive how we managed to convince all those players to play for free and all the loaning clubs to let us borrow for nothing.

What an arrogant condescending post.

We've just seen our most valuable asset eased out of the Club to keep the lights on until summer to be replaced  for three months by a rag tag bunch of assorted loanees.

We might just about have enough to survive this season but talk about kicking the can down the road - and for a very short distance.

Sorry you dont like the fact posters on here arent happy about that. What do you think we're going to do when that money money runs out, sell Szmodics? Then what? If you can get over your sense of superiority for 5 mins you might care to reflect on the fact that players of the ilk of Jones/ Duff/Wharton only come along every ten years or so and we've just been forced to sell for a relative pittance.

The Club is only headed in one direction currently, if you want to bury your head in the sand about that fine.

Will we be OK to call you all sorts of names along with being just as  "short sighted" as you think we are on here when we drop into League 1 and beyond?

Thing is rev, you’re a perfect example of why today will likely be the last time I sign in until the next window.

Have fun gesticulating and predicting, I’m sure there’s about 3 people here who enjoy it.

This is what I was told.A real power struggle. He is a popular lad with the players and was very vocal in his displeasure. JDT had to move him out of way or risk losing the dressing room. Some believed he already had amongst some of the older lads.

We were/are certainly playing like it.

Short term, this team / squad is not going down, imo.

You may be right but short-term is all we ever get under this lot. We need a plan with a schedule like Brentford and Brighton but there will never be one.

Staggering along from season to season is all we can expect.

Last season we should have finished in the top 6 and would have if Hedges hadn't stuffed it up at Preston.

That's how close we were.

So, build on that in the summer and we had a real chance to go up. But we didn't did we? We had the same rubbish transfer window as usual. The squad was weaker in August than it had been in May. And so ended the enthusiasm that was building.

But we are weaker now once again. This is a consistent running-down of the Club and It has to be negligent or deliberate.

Long-term, maybe less. I think we will go down unless things change drastically. Nothing so far gives me hope that that will happen.

I absolutely respect your opinion and its good to read a different perspective on things.

Some of the football at times has been good to watch agreed, but we are 18th and concede a bucketful.

We all want the players to do well and wish them the best for the club.

The players aren't the issue, like all signings some will be good some not so, only way to judge is let it play out.

I think what concerns myself is there is more evidence of a Reading/Portsmouth than a Brentford model. I personally agree that's the way to go, I just don't think we have the expertise,  long term planning,  scouting structures,  budgets or competence to achieve it based on the last 13 years.

It's always next year...next window. I'd be amazed and delighted if we reinvested into a coherent recruitment strategy with a plan to challenge. I just don't think we will.

By our own CEOs admission survival in the Championship and selling anyone decent is our aim, which doesn't really tally with a club looking to push on, of course just my opinion.

Buy yay we've got some players for 6 months...

Nailed it there in a polite, respectful way I think.

Shame J Biz has flounced off in a huff and won't see it.

Fleck broke his leg in August and according to Wilder was still suffering pain from it just 3 weeks ago and added to the injury list. Furthermore the break was a recurrence of a break suffered just 12 months earlier. Looks like we signed another crock.

That’s bad news. I know all about breaking the same leg twice in 12 months. I called it a day regarding serious football after that.

Went to bed last night after the McGuire signing very disillusioned and actually was going to come on here and ask for Waggots and Broughtons e mail addresses to let them know what I thought of their transfer window.

Woke up to find we had signed John Fleck (on another short term deal admittedly) and after some thought I am hoping this is the case :

Certainly we lacked leaders and experience as admitted by JDT and these two certainly bring both of those qualities without doubt.

I should know better after all this time with these owners , but I am prepared to accept that the Wharton money may have come to late to do any major deals and to possibly make some mistakes by panic signings

IF that money is made available in the Summer (and it won't be £18m) then it gives the recruitment team breathing space to identify targets.

Let's see if Broughton confirms that in his post window assessment. If not I'll be back on asking for those e mail addresses
