Popular Post wilsdenrover Posted October 19, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 19, 2023 (edited) https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67160330 From the above - FA Cup third and fourth round replays are expected to be scrapped as part of reforms to the English football calendar’ Reform means ‘make changes to something in order to improve it’ - and who does this ‘reform’ help? Yes, as usual, it’s the biggest few clubs in the country who, without a hint of irony, moan about fixture congestion whilst also pushing for the enlargement of the European competitions. I for one will welcome the day when they finally disappear up their own arses and into a closed shop ‘super league’ Rant over…at least for now. Edited October 19, 2023 by wilsdenrover 10 Quote

Upside Down Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Those same clubs also have 30 players that would walk into the first 11 of any other team in the world. The F.A. once again showing that they are totally fucking gutless. 4 Quote
Backroom Popular Post Mike E Posted October 19, 2023 Backroom Popular Post Posted October 19, 2023 ‘Taking them to a replay at theirs’ is a tale as old os football and often a huge difference maker to clubs lower down the leagues. But who gives a shite about them, eh? 10 Quote

Displaced Rover Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 It’s a total joke, instigated by the 6/7 richest clubs at the expense of the several hundred all the way down the pyramid that rely on FA cup money. International appearances aside, it’s a complete fallacy that top end Premier League sides play more. If you’re a decent L1 team you’re playing 46 league games, potentially play offs, long EFL trophy run plus whatever you get in league cup and FA cup - sure that averages out as more than most Premier League sides, with far smaller squads and much poorer facilities. This moaning about elite sportsmen, in their 20/30s playing too much will never ever make sense to me. They should be fucking grateful of the chance to do it for a living. 9 Quote

It is the International friendlies and the non sensical Nation's Cup , that needs to be scrapped asap ! 1 Quote
