Watched 3 back to back PL games today. None of them play the way we try to. Keepers mix it up, go long, players cross the ball, win second balls. I forgot what it's like to actually put in a decent corner let alone  score from one. We never seem to score a header and if we do it's very rare. Can't think of one this season. Our approach is unique to us, try to play it out from the back no matter what and constantly get caught out. Needs to change.

They want people to bid for our players that's what it's all about JDT has said as much but it's kind of counter productive when it doesn't work.

Absolutely right on this. Good premier league wingers look to get it out of their feet quickly and cross it into the box still, and score from them again and again. Likewise they shoot and see deflected goals go in every single week. We don't.

We are reluctant to cross and don't have anyone attacking crosses that do go in. We also very bizarrely often refuse to deliver it into the box when our defenders have stayed up, which is absolutely ludicrous.

They stick around waiting for a cross that's not coming and we get counter attacked with a couple of midfielders left to defend. We concede a lot of goals at the minute through overcomplicating things.

You could argue we actually need to play with more freedom where we are allowed to mix it up more. How many times have we encouraged more pressure by not hitting it as long as possible.

Sometimes a couple of punts upfield or an opposition throw-in down the other end allows you to regroup, push up and breathe.

We won a game the other week with a punt up the park.

Bang it down the channels and get it in the box.

If we do win here (big if IMO), then we’ll know 3 points vs PNE takes us into the top 6, even if it’s just for Friday night.

A classic "its the hope that kills you" post!! Good on ya, hope it comes true.

I wouldn't risked Szmodics if not fully fit. Saved for PNE game

my team would be

               Wahlstedt

Brittain Hill Wharton Pickering

       JRC Tronstad Wharton

Moran      Leonard     Sigurdsson

It picks itself really. Unless we can trust Ennis with more than a ten minute cameo.

I would start Ennis, if only to see how long he can manage and what his finishing is like.

Ennis looked like he'd never played for years at Chelsea, completely off the pace mentally and physically.  He must be one of the most questionable signings the club has made in recent times - and there's been a fair number

Again a really imbalanced team with a depressing lack of goal threat.  A front 3 comprising of a right back on the wing, a number 10 on the wing and a winger up front.

It shows again how much the budget cuts have hindered us when you have one striker we signed on the bench probably unlikely to come on with Leonard also on there and the other with the under 21s.

We cant even rely on a scrappy 1 nil set piece goal approach as we dont cross the ball in!

Norwich to be fair look really week too, no Sargent and Barnes and also injuries at centre back with a young lad making his debut.

Cheers.

That bench looks exciting for the future. Shame Leonard isn't playing from the get go but I reckon he will come on and score once we are already 2-0 up!! Come on rovers!

So we're in November and we still don't have a fit and/or capable striker. It's beyond a joke at this point how bad the recruitment process is.
