Immensely entertaining stuff if you were a neutral , arguably at two goals up at 3-1 we were far too open though. Not sure what our so called keeper was doing for their second, it went bang smack down the middle of the goal and he got absolutely no where near it. Good three points things are getting mildly interesting as regards the table but I still think it's extremely hard to envisage us finishing in the top 6. The manager continues to overperform despite a threadbare squad, a CEO who doesn't want success and a dud in situ as DOF. Well done JDT. It deflected off Whartons foot so took a wicked dip. Could have saved it though, but the mistake by the veteran Ruddy was worse. 3 Quote

Took a deflection. Have you seen his save from the ex-dingle who's name I can't be arsed finding out how to spell? Top drawer, put Gordon Banks to shame. 😉 Apart from the worry on crosses I think he's got everything in his locker to be a quality keeper. 11 Quote

BigBar Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Why are people jibing at people who rate some players and not others? Highlighting Pickering and A.Wharton, I rate Wharton massively and don't rate Pickering at all, is that allowed? Strange stuff after an enjoyable game and result. "And for those of you who give player X a hard time"...give it a rest. Quote
Popular Post magicalmortensleftpeg Posted November 29, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 29, 2023 Playing some of the best stuff I’ve seen from us in a very long time. Few teams at this level could handle us when we move it quickly as we did in the first 10-15 of each half. Always a high risk of conceding with the way we play and general inexperience but when it clicks, it’s great to watch. 13 Quote
neophox Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Were stretched at the moment....the bench are very weak with just youngsters... we need bodies in and needed some subs after we went 3-0 up but who would you put in.... maybe a Garrett but we sealed it anyway. I think some of the physics in our team are superb, we look pacy and strong in our attacks and have an identity how we play. We just need some more players to give the others a breather or two. 2 Quote
Dan Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 3-0 up, stress free rest of the game? Nah, we’re Rovers; we don’t do stress free. We’re like the Kevin Keegan 90’s Newcastle. Some superb passing play at times tonight. Thought JDT did well taking Travis off, as he would have been sent off eventually; That Dembele looked a great player and we never really dealt with him. Pleased to see Harry score, the Brum commentary blamed a deflection, but I thought it was a proper strikers goal. He definitely needs more game time, I think he’s got a lot to offer and has the foundations to be a good striker at least at this level. 7 Quote

BigBar Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 (edited) Think everyone was solid tonight, only concern is Siggurdson, involved in the 4th goal but he was poor enough tonight, half arsed and sluggish. It's not really clicked got him since he got off to a flying start. Trav also a concern, very limited and hindered us first half, was the right call to replace him. booth Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 It's nice having a player at the top of the goalscoring charts that makes the rest envious. He looks like he could score in every game, let's hope he does. 2 Quote

I think Tommy K’s dip in form clouds a lot of people’s judgement; before his injury he won us a lot of matches on his own. If Leo can just sort out his catching he could be decent as he looks like a good shot stopper. 4 Quote
neophox Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Yes he's scored 13.... Adam former rovers player is second with 10 goals. 2 Quote

Whilst he had a good game Mike, compared to his recent performances it was below par. Gave the ball away a couple of times. The standard he has set is high though. I gave him a 7/10 Football is a funny old game. At 3-0 I put a video of me and the mrs opening up a bottle of Prosecco in our football chat. Full of “bluenoses”. I had to try and make a joke of it at 3-2 with my head in my hands… We started both halves superbly. Unfortunately, in the 1st half we couldn’t make it count but well and truly made up for it. I think Blues are a poor side. They take far too many shots outside of the box for me. Part of me was wondering today if that comes from Rooney or if he just has a squad who thinks they can pull off the miracle every time Szmodics has been a revelation this season. What a player. The runs he makes frighten defenders. Let me tell you, when you have a player running like that for 90 mins, it’s your worst nightmare. You want to defend against a Jutkiewic (however it’s spelt). It’s easier. Sammie gives everybody a hard time and with the quality of Whartons passing it is really starting to show Moran and Leonard were good today too. Moran occasionally sloppy, but given we win you can forget I must be part of the few not overly enthused about Sigurdson. Again I look back at who I’d rather defend against. Give me a choice of him or Dolan and I’d take Sigurdson any day of the week. Dolan isn’t the best I have seen at this level but feel he offers more. I think Anor has a lot to prove in this team imo Carter and Hill superb again. Love them two. Especially Carter as he’s “one of our own”. Hill is every bit the premiership defender imo, and will have a successful career in the top divisions. Pickering solid again. Brittain is definitely a winger over a defender - once again he was sold through his legs. You notice these things when you’re playing to someone like that. A player who gets megged regularly is “diving in”. He’s a liability defensively, but his energy and his work rate as a winger shines through We move to within 2 pts of the play offs. Not bad with a “dud DOF”, “kids” on loan and freebies eh Maybe the footballing team down Ewood know a bit more than some are willing to let on 12 Quote

BigBar Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Sammies drive, determination and heart will get him over 20 this season, he never stops, so impressive. Great selection of finishes too, he's clearly enjoying being the main man. 3 Quote
