jim mk2 Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Wahlstedt was cheap and he shows it. Another costly mistake to add to all the others. We’ve had some poor keepers on recent years and he’s another to add to the list. How many points have Pears and this guy thrown away between them? 2 Quote

Gamst Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Really feel for the lads today. Great effort again but let down by the small inexperienced squad again. It would have been an impressive win and a lovely boost at Christmas .They are clearly knackered and the fixture congestion is only going exacerbate this. We have several injuries to key players, but a stronger squad could absorb this. The cost cutting in the summer is really hitting us hard at such a busy period. Comparing the 2 squads today and last week shows a startling disparity and the fact we are somewhere near the middle of the table is testament to the manager and players. Imagine what JDT could achieve with the necessary support. Give JDT and Broughton a chance and back them in January….if the Venkys are unwilling or unable due to their financial indiscretions to fund the team then please please please sell up and give us all some festive hope! 3 Quote
wilsdenrover Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 As we’ve no one to bring off the bench should JDT be adapting our tactics to be less intensive? Or would we lose more than we’d gain? Quote
Sweaty Gussets Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I thought we played well for the most part considering we were playing without a striker for most of it. Ennis is proving to be a real disappointment. Both Wharton's were excellent, as was Tronstad. Carter and Travis were also good. Siggy and Moran flatter to deceive. Great to see Hyam back, the last 20 minutes proved how valuable he is. Felt sorry for Leo, pulled off some great saves and then got a bit unlucky with the two goals. He's just a young lad learning his trade though, mistakes will happen. The lack of a decent squad cost us the points again. Watford weren't better than us until we ran out of legs in the last 20. Their expensively assembled squad won them the match. Injuries and our shit owners have killed us this season. Good to see Ewood a lot busier. 18k rather than 13k makes a huge difference. Well done to the Trust and all those involved. Merry Christmas one and all. Up the Rovers. 6 Quote
Ghost7 Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Let’s get real here… You can’t be staying around for this if you’re a talented manager. JDT has to go. Quote
Popular Post Ben-2000 Posted December 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 23, 2023 Well done to the supporters groups today, I think we can all agree takeover day was a success. Glad to play my own small part in it too... 12 Quote
1864roverite Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Didn’t deserve that to be honest - those berating Leo get a grip - same for those slagging the bench we are decimated by injuries and the bench is testament to our academy Almost 18k well done to all merry Christmas 6 Quote

A ticket for a tenner. And they want... what? Shearer and Sutton banging in the goals? Yep! When you 'lose' fans then it's a helluva job to get them back. Quote
Ghost7 Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Sign players or I walk would be the message from me if I were JDT. He will have plenty of takers. 1 Quote

You cost us goals, it’s going to be highlighted. Just like when you do good things, you receive praise. Has anyone actually slagged the bench off, though? Quote

matt83 Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I can’t think of a single season where the goalkeepers have directly cost us so many points. 1 Quote
Popular Post arbitro Posted December 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 23, 2023 Firstly extremely well done to the various supporter organisations who really showed the hierarchy at Ewood what the real potential of this great club of ours has. You all did yourselves, your organisations and the club proud. Once again it was a sense of disappointment walking out of Ewood at the result but certainly not the performance. We had several outstanding players today but Adam Wharton was terrific. Ultimately we we undone by some pacy counter attacks and our own errors. Walhstedt will know he should have caught the ball instead of punching and hopefully he will learn from it but I refuse to hang him out to dry. Once again our opponents have real quality to bring on and we simply have inexperience, they had real game changers, we didn't. If anybody is looking to apportion blame it should be directed at these woeful, uncaring shysters who masquerade as our owners. The manager and players are going above and beyond in my opinion but are absolutely hamstrung by those people. I'm looking forward to Huddersfield on Boxing Day now when we can hopefully come back with three points. 13 Quote

jim mk2 Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 To confirm ….. the owners did not sign some of the poor players we’ve taken on in recent years. That’s down to the managers and directors of football. That’s where equal responsibility lies Quote

He made 3 excellent saves today - and the 2 goals he's made the initial save from difficult shots and his (tired) defenders have been second to the loose ball. If he was good enough to palm those wide / somehow smother them he'd be playing in the PL. 1 Quote

The season was over when the Summer Transfer Window slammed shut again without a First XI striker walking through the door. Today was just like watching a car crash in slow motion - one we watch every week at the moment and one everyone around me in the Jack Walker saw coming. We played Watford off the park, but they made 5 subs and changed the game with their energy. We made 2 planned subs for players returning from injury (Hyam / Ennis - Hill / Leonard)... and then our 3rd change was a bloke most of us can agree simply isn't up to this standard. Their GK was the clear MOTM btw - he made 3 absurd saves. 2 Quote
